Dear colleagues working in universities,

This is a question for zoologists (rather not for entomologists, but maybe you are aware of it).
Have you ever heard of a certain order from the ministry that categorically prohibits working with this substance in educational institutions?

I know everything: it's both smelly and harmful. And everyone would be happy to give it up, but what should I replace it with? But my question is not about replacing formalin with another fixative. It's about the order. Does it exist? I have reason to doubt its existence.

And how to prohibit it if it is a universal fixative? There is no such order. As long as we work , there have never been any obstacles, we buy even centrally.

Agree.
But our [censored] management shook a piece of paper in front of my [censored] immediate superiors, and as a result, I was given the task of getting rid of formalin. And in it, as you understand, almost all zoological samples...

Everything is clear. I demand the order number. If they tell me, I'll tell them. I suspect that there will be a reason to laugh... weep.gif

And if it is possible to find out about it from your management, which shook some piece of paper. Maybe this piece of paper contains a reference to this order.

My immediate superiors don't know.
And it's easier for me to ask on the forum than from high authorities. But I found out what I needed — this is either not quite what they say, or not at all what they tell me. Otherwise, people from universities (and there are such people here) would have been aware of it.

If I get to the bottom of it, I'll tell you. Thanks!

This may be related to the 2018 FIFA World Cup. There was an order banning work with dangerous substances for the period 25.05-25.07 in the Russian Federation.

I hope you're joking. eek.gif Where is Murmansk, and where is the World Cup?.. But no matter how true it turns out to be, we have all sorts of things...
