Greenhouse grasshopper is also an option.

Omar, thank you. this is a greenhouse grasshopper. yes.gif I Googled the photo and found out. blacksmith

Greenhouse grasshopper is also an option. If the legs exceed noticeably the length of the body, then he. If the legs are short and thick, then cricket.

Omar, they're harmless, aren't they?

05.07.2007 13:34, Chromocenter

Well, it is said that they harm indoor flowers, but they will definitely not do anything to you.

05.07.2007 15:29, Guest

And crickets don't jump. And they don't fly. They walk. They are large-the size of large locusts. Only they have practically no wings. And they sing, of course.
They live comfortably in city apartments. They say they chew furniture. My girlfriend made me laugh once. He asks: "Why are they living in city apartments? Maybe they think they're caves?.." smile.gif

05.07.2007 15:55, omar

Um, I can't agree with you. Crickets are small, but stocky, they can jump well, they have wings, they sing with them. Crickets do not spoil furniture, they feed on food waste like cockroaches. Neither crickets nor greenhouse grasshoppers are dangerous.

05.07.2007 18:06, RippeR

if crickets are larvae, or some wingless species-then they have nothing to dance with, so it can be deaf. But if such a thing is a greenhouse grasshopper, then feed them and poison them, or release them, or trample them - there are more options than in the game DUUM..

05.07.2007 20:25, Guest

That's right, stocky. But the wings (or rather elytra) of house crickets, if any, are very expressionless. Here they are, crickets:
http://www.floranimal.ru/pages/animal/s/2858.html
And you just haven't seen the big ones. And the authors of the mentioned site apparently also did not see it. They write "1.6 - 2 cm long". They grow bigger! Our grandparents in the city apartment had huge crickets living under the wardrobe and in the bathroom-5 or 7 centimeters. And they sang loudly.
As for the fact that the furniture is being chewed, this is most likely really a lie. Moreover, in my opinion it is very tasteless smile.gif

05.07.2007 22:35, omar

7 cm there are no such crickets. That's exactly what I'm telling you. umnik.gif

Maybe it's the bears that have started up! I have nothing to lose lol.gif

05.07.2007 22:58, omar

Yeah, I didn't think about the bears. However, strongly.

05.07.2007 23:08, Guest

Well, smile.gifnot seven. I made a small mistake - I just looked at the ruler: seven is really too much. But six-exactly! With a mustache wink.gifAnd nothing less! It was a very large cricket. Probably old.
I've seen bears too. And also at my grandmother's, but already in the country. They are quite different. Absolutely wonderful animals! They have such gorgeous front paws! And bears don't drown in water. We have one bear that fell into a water barrel. People thought that she had drowned there and forgotten about her. And in the evening I looked in the barrel, and it's swimming with might and main! I don't even seem tired smile.gif. I fished her out and let her go.

05.07.2007 23:14, omar

Body length in insects is almost always measured from the tip of the abdomen to the front edge of the head. No one ever counts a mustache. Do you have any photos of these crickets?

05.07.2007 23:34, Guest

Woodlice-pranksters smile.gifThey know how to curl up in a ball, like hedgehogs.

05.07.2007 23:53, RippeR

And the bear said: "let me go, I'll still be useful to you" The good girl let go of the bear, and the next week the neighbors already had no potatoes, and the potmo and the hostess disappeared-treacherous smile.gifbears

I live on the first floor of the Khrushchev house. In the apartment from time to time there are such insects as in the photo. Sometimes a cat catches them. Please help me determine who they are and whether they are dangerous
(I found the photo on the Internet, the insect is the same, but it was photographed in the collector, underground)

Thank You

This is a cave grasshopper (family Rhaphidophoridae). Some species have adapted to life in basements, greenhouses, utility rooms, etc
. There is no particular harm from them-even, perhaps, not much use: they are omnivorous and can eat, for example, cockroaches.

09.07.2007 1:32, Vlad Proklov

By the way, if you have them on the first floor appear-probably they are in the basement dofiga and more smile.gif

Greetings to all participants of the discussion! I finally took a photo of these insects, ready to send them to the mail to someone from registered users for further posting on the forum.

Gee, I was right, these are small wingless wasps of the German type! lol.gif

10.07.2007 8:44, Tigran Oganesov

The fact that the membrane is indisputable. But not German. Ant rather.

10.07.2007 8:48, omar

Ant!? Well, let me disagree....

10.07.2007 8:55, Tigran Oganesov

Yes XS, on such a photo you will see figs. Well, why do wasps hang out in the house in large numbers? More like an anthill

10.07.2007 8:56, алекс 2611

I looked at the photo, looked at it..... Like an antenna ( well, in the sense of a mustache) some are not ant-like... Maybe Omar is right? Still German?

10.07.2007 8:57, Tigran Oganesov

Hmm, really the antennas are not like that... But the Germans?

10.07.2007 8:59, omar

Not just the mustache, look at the legs. Where have you seen SUCH legs in ants?!

10.07.2007 9:01, Tigran Oganesov

Yes, legs like legs, webbing.

10.07.2007 9:01, алекс 2611

Well, yes-the photo is certainly not very good. I thought I'd be able to tell you something if I had eardrums, but I can't. In general, it looks like a German, but it's hard to say for sure.

10.07.2007 9:02, omar

I'm not an expert on e-mails, and I don't insist on German ones. I'm just saying - small wingless wasps LIKE the Germans. And what kind of Germans they are there-this is for specialists.

10.07.2007 9:05, Tigran Oganesov

I am surprised by their mass character...
Maybe betilids?

10.07.2007 9:05, omar

Bolivar, the legs are short and thick, not ant-like, completely unsuitable for running. On such legs, you can only waddle, as the author of this topic said.

10.07.2007 9:07, Tigran Oganesov

Why are they unsuitable? Not so short. Normal running legs. I am sure that if you touch it , it will run, and even as smile.gif

Yes, it doesn't look like an ant at all. Let A. Andrey collect more and send it out. We can accurately determine the genus from an instance, and even more so the family
