Please help me!
I found something on the child's head that looked very much like a louse, but much larger than usual. And there don't seem to be any signs of lice, ugh-ugh-ugh.
In general, maybe there is something similar, can you tell me?

Probably a bloodsucking fly. They like to climb in the hair, bite the neck.

31.03.2008 17:06, guest: evgenia

the fact of the matter is that there are no bites or irritations..

Take a look at these links and compare them.

If it's a bloodsucker, you might not have found any bite marks. Where exactly did you live when you discovered it? Among them, there are species that are parasitic on both mammals and birds. And they can also hit a person.

31.03.2008 19:43, Guest

only the first link opens, and it is not particularly clear from it(

Belatedly, I saw an interesting topic. Don't destroy them! Not only beautiful, but also useful-they eat flies and cockroaches. They crawl mostly at night, afraid of the light.
If you are interested in the species, then this is all - Scutigera coleoptrata.

01.04.2008 16:11, FALKON

Hello dear scholars...
Can you help me determine what kind of insect it is ??? > >user posted image
Is it an ant or a cockroach ??? Help us solve this difficult task !!!

01.04.2008 16:25, Guest

this is a symbiosis of a cockroach and an ant :D

01.04.2008 16:42, FALKON

You want to say that a cockroach and an ant mated......
And in the end it turned out this miracle ???

01.04.2008 16:53, omar

Are you joking, falconer?

01.04.2008 17:23, Zlopastnyi Brandashmyg

And the photo, any additional information? Haven't you been in the woods?

01.04.2008 18:08, Dmitrii Musolin

It's bumblebee!

01.04.2008 18:21, FALKON

You study all sorts of beetles here...
You must recognize this beast))

01.04.2008 18:36, FALKON

This is all very serious!!!

03.04.2008 19:06, Yntz

The house has been inhabited by a beetle for several years, and it is very resistant to extermination. Its larvae can be found anywhere, but it likes to lay larvae in dark places, on fabric. In appearance, the larvae are disgusting, as if "striped". The bug itself is like this:

The photo is not very informative. It reminded me of Scaphididae, though I'd never heard of its synatropy.

03.04.2008 21:24, Tigran Oganesov

In my opinion, this is a banal kozheed Attagenus smirnovi.

04.04.2008 0:31, Bad Den

In my opinion, this is a banal leatherworm Attagenus smirnovi.

yes.gif
What kind of mustache does he have smile.gif

04.04.2008 11:34, Dmitry Vlasov

This is 95% Attagenus smirnovi, male. They have a very long club and sometimes is slightly at an angle to the" stem " of the antennae. So it seems very unusual...

07.04.2008 14:44, Lakmus

Good afternoon, dear experts. Please help me determine what kind of insect it is. Photo attached. The overall size without antennae is about 1 mm. The photo was taken in Odessa, in a private house. They are active in any season. They appeared suddenly. They crawl on the walls, they don't seem to spoil anything, but there are a lot of them. No matter what you eat, thank you very much in advance.

In my opinion they look like hay eaters http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hay eaters

07.04.2008 18:35, Lakmus

Thank you very much, it looks like he is.
Here is also a forum thread about this

13.04.2008 23:29, Ganjubas

Runs very fast on any surface including vertically, does not jump
Runs mainly on the floor, sometimes climbs on the walls
The body is elongated, white, slightly transparent, very flexible, the tail sometimes wriggles
We usually find on the parquet floor, very often under shoes in the hallway and in the shoes
themselves We do not find Places of congestion.
What it eats is not clear, because it was found in salt, near a bowl of cat food, etc
. see the photo of the insect

PS
I apologize that I created the topic in another section-I didn't notice it

Shchetinokhvostka Cheshuynitsa sugar (Lepisma sacharina) the usual synanthrope, on a forum already prokhodila

14.04.2008 1:14, Victor Titov

Yes, this is a bristletail, but not a sugar flake, but, most likely, another species-Thermobia domestica. No harm from it either.

14.04.2008 1:39, IchMan

And definitely not sugar... It's probably time to go to bed wink.gif

14.04.2008 9:12, Ganjubas

Tell me, how to deal with it and what does it eat?
Can it eat wood (parquet)?
In Google, I found that you can only get rid of them with dust or boric acid.
Thank you.

14.04.2008 13:18, Victor Titov

This creature is harmless and practically does not cause any real harm. It feeds on all kinds of organic matter that remains in the dust on the floor, mold, etc. As for wood or parquet-it is absolutely "not up to her teeth", and not to her taste. Perhaps your apartment has high humidity, so it's good for them. You can get rid of them by depriving them of acceptable living conditions.

Clearly something from Arachnida (arachnids), but it doesn't look like a banal near Moscow smile.gifIn which city was the photo taken?

Looks like karakurt to me confused.gif
Is the dog alive?

I live in Israel.Well, fotkala in the same place.)
The dog is alive.Baby spider discovered.
No to ask if I'm still alive?))))
Spidey looks like a black widow, but I just love them and I don't know who's who at all.I can only say that the spider was in a very peaceful mood, although I evacuated the children to another room just in case. And the spider took a picture and released it on the street on the grass.)

No to ask if I'm still alive?))))

And who created the theme, zombies? wink.gif

26.04.2008 15:58, Nozer

Looks like karakurt to me

I doubt that they don't like to settle down in their homes (although anything can happen)
"No to ask if I'm still alive?))))"
I'm very glad you're alive smile.gif

Verdict: The spider's coloration resembles the Latrodectus family. More precisely, I find it difficult to determine.

Similar yes.gif

26.04.2008 19:14, Илана

Thank you all for your explanations.)
A couple of years ago, another spider, or rather a wolf spider, popped into our house. He behaved very aggressively and although his bite is not dangerous, it was not possible to catch and release this creature, because the spider was jumping around the house.I had to shoot him with a water cannon.

26.04.2008 20:34, Tigran Oganesov

Yes, this is definitely Steatoda (a close relative of the widow, but not so poisonous). I don't dare name the type, after all, there may not be paykulliana in Israel, although it looks very much like it.

26.04.2008 20:53, Илана

Thank you!)
