Yes, this is definitely Steatoda (a close relative of the widow, but not so poisonous). I don't dare name the type, after all, there may not be paykulliana in Israel, although it looks very much like it.

It seems to me that it is still an Israeli site, where the most popular types are given almost 100%

Most likely yes, I'm just not familiar with the Israeli arachnofauna, maybe there are other steatodes there. They are very variable in color.

Dear experts, please help me identify my pet monster. It was found at home, in the smallest room of the apartment (well, you knowsmile.gif). The photo shows a very strong macro, because the insect is about 5 mm in size.

I would be grateful for information (at least to know who we live with... no.gif )

It is a Pseudoscorpiones, a harmless insect.

Only a false scorpion is not an insect, but an arachnid.

Scootiger's centipede flycatcher again! Where exactly was the picture taken? In what city or region? There is no harm from it, it is a predator, it feeds on small insects.

05.05.2008 9:43, Alexandr Rusinov

This is a skutigera, in Russian a flycatcher. Belongs to millipedes, absolutely harmless animal, feeds on cockroaches, flies, etc.

in the city of Kursk.can't she eat our cockroaches?and then we were also tortured by cockroaches-huge ones in a black shell, I would have nurtured and cherished it then,we have an office in a dried swamp, so we have all these animals right?

Apparently, you still have black cockroaches, which are dying out in many Russian cities (although the vast majority of the population is reasonably happy about this). I think she won't touch an adult cockroach unnecessarily, but larvae and nymphs will. But not all of them will eat, for this a regiment of flycatchers is necessary. The flycatcher and cockroaches were not brought in because of the swamp, they are synanthropic species in life.

well, we have almost a regiment of them.at first, we ran away from this animal with screams of horror from the office, already 6 pieces were killed in 2 weeks, and they are again pleasing us.but this one was not killed, since it is so good, we will grow them,we can see the whole family is found-from small to large. But with cockroaches, I do not know what to do, they are very scary, you will come in the morning and we have a mountain of corpses on the floor that are black and large, well, if a live one crawls, then we all have heart attacks, can we create a reserve?

05.05.2008 9:59, Кэтрин

do you know how to bring out all these insects for us? and then in front of customers ashamed?

05.05.2008 10:01, Victor Titov

A cockroach sanctuary in the office is cool and overly humane. And flycatchers will certainly help you in the fight against cockroaches. But in order to get rid of cockroaches, I recommend contacting Rospotrebnadzor (former SES).

Get a toad in the office. Preferably asu, it will be more solid. At night, you will let her out to walk around the office and eat cockroaches...

I don't recommend hedgehogs, they are dirty-they tear up the wallpaper, shit a lot, etc.

Hello, gentlemen.
In the bathroom, in all likelihood, a dampness-loving "beast" appeared in the photo. It is very small ~ 1 mm, so I couldn't make a good photo. Please tell me what his name is and how to drive the livestock out of the territory. Careful hours-long drying of the bathroom with construction hair dryers-did not bring results. Although everything "heated up" for a long period like in a sauna.

This is from the order of the legtail (Collembola) something, hardly anyone will say for sure.

Nothing will help from this beast! This is it, the end. Soon there will be more of them and they will grow. Features of this type are teeth. It gnaws at everything, even the tiles. But there is a way out. The beast must be frightened. Catch one, tear off one paw, and release it. Seeing a crippled fellow, the others will get scared and leave. Important! When they leave, catch the last one again and pin it to the bathroom door (so that neighboring tribes don't come to the devastated territory). And also, be sure to write a terrible word on the bathroom door, above the head of the pinned person, or you can use obscene language. Then they definitely won't startsmile.gif.

Well, you give Dormidont lol.gifwell, it was necessary to write lol.gifthis Now seriously: it really looks like a nogokhvostka, they usually appear if you water your indoor plants too much, as nogokhvostki feed on rotten plant remains. If you do not allow waterlogging of the soil, they will go away (so you do not need to tear off the limbs), although you can try to use some anti-insect drugs (any ones will work against nogohvostok).Well, I think it will be superfluous. True, it is not clear to me what the nogohvostka could do in the bathroom, they usually appear on the soil in flower pots. A dampness nogohvostki really like.

I can't help but feel the memories flooding back.
When I was a student working as a laboratory assistant in a very fun department, then one day we (the laboratory assistants) were presented with complaints about rats crawling from the back door under the door and rampaging in nearby offices. In the case of the strong, the powerless is always to blame, and the laboratory assistant is responsible for everything in the department. For several days, we were brainwashed about the need to take urgent measures. Apparently, we were supposed to take shifts at night at the gnawed-through door and hit it with a stick as soon as a rat's head appeared in the hole. At some point, our patience ran out and we took action. On neatly cut paper, we wrote a lot of posters and hung them on the door, at the level of the rat's head: "rats - get out of the pulpit", " rats go home!", " down with the rats!", etc., etc.

The sight of the "faculty" standing on all fours and laughing amused the casual students a lot.

I apologize for the flood.

They appeared in Penza a long time ago. We started seeing them constantly in 2001-2003. But I only saw them in the building where I worked. There was a lot of office space. Apparently they came from somewhere in the south with a cargo. The nest was built in two places-in the wall under the wallpaper-in the driest and farthest corner from the window, and in computer boxes (in the same corner). The first detailed examination of these cute animals impressed me: beautiful animals, move quickly, can crawl on the ceiling, but they slide off the whitewashed wall, they are well encrypted. I caught the biggest one, put it in a jar-I wanted to fatten smile.gifit up)). But it started to get sick (I didn't know it was a predator then) and I let it out. then it ran many more times on the wall in front of my workplace. BUT! no longer one - it was followed by 2 more small centipedes (2 times less), trail-to-trail! I wonder why only 2 and more, do they form groups (maybe families? :-))! I decided to write about it because I just noticed her in my room. But, her days are numbered - the cat has already noticed her. While managed to drive away. Yes, I photographed that centipede next to a regular lighter - it was longer than the lighter (due to the mustache) and slightly thinner. I saw both black and yellow (as in the photo above) and black and brown. If they're insects, they're the prettiest I've ever seen. And the fact that they began to spread to the north, so it's climate change... Good luck!

Here such periodically appear in office premises in Ufa
http://content.foto.mail.ru/inbox/rycev/alb/i-5.jpg
Length 3,5 cm without legs, looks VERY scary and runs fast
Now not scary smile.gif

20.05.2008 23:25, Lili Lilu

Please excuse me! same problem! these small creatures live on the window between the frames, and do not appear anywhere else. true, I did not see the legs, but the description is very suitable. They move very fast, so fast that I couldn't kill any of them, and they move as if they're crawling instead of running...well, like snakes undulating. they only crawl out at night, hiding in the cracks from the light of the light bulbs. I will try to make a photo, but I have to watch them at night) Please help!!Very scary!!

25.05.2008 13:40, Nataliaz83

Please help me!

At home in an apartment in Paris, some black caterpillars or worms appeared about 4-5 cm in length, but when I wanted to kill him, he curled up very quickly into a ball, and turned out not to be soft like an ordinary caterpillar, but a little hard.

I have no idea what it is, how and where to find their nest, By the way I find them in the bedroom next to the bathroom,

If someone has any idea what it is, please tell me

25.05.2008 13:55, Tigran Oganesov

Maybe woodlouse? Google the image.

Upd. I looked at the size and decided that it was more likely kiwsak.

Yes, it's probably kiwsaki. Harmless creatures. They can live in the apartment in rotten wood. Look under the tub, in any damp places. I used to have them at home, too.

25.05.2008 23:13, mikee

Only black ones (see photo)? Kivsyak.

Spasibo bolshoe rebyata,

Teper' ya imeu predstavlenie ot kogo izbavlyatsya, I read a lot of literature on the Internet on kivsyakam yesterday, and now I'm almost sure that they are, but mine are much smaller than they should be in theory, maybe they haven't grown yet:-)

Now we need to get rid of them somehow.....

Thank you.

Hello!
Please help identify the insect! (photo from the link....) Midges appeared a few days ago in the room, I do not know where (((live, I understand, under the ceiling skirting board...... tk constantly crawl out of there! and they crawl on the skirting board, the ceiling. midges have small wings, with a hard spot, but fly around the room) gray in color

Lena (or still Konstantinconfused.gif) is a seed beetle (Bruchidae). They live in beans, peas, etc. So shake up your inventory - it's out there somewhere.

02.06.2008 12:41, guest: Владислав

I live in Poltava (Ukraine). I regularly see them in my room. And their mother destroys them constantly. They appeared about a year ago, most likely arrived in a bag from the Black Sea coast. Immediately lost cockroaches (poor people). I hope it's really useful, because just looking at it makes your hand reach for your sneaker.

Thank you so much for your help! We are very grateful!)

Recently, black beetles appeared in the apartment. They climb walls and ceilings. If you listen closely, you can hear them crawling. When you press them, you hear a click. The size is not small, about 1 centimeter, and they also fly.
My apartment is on the 5th floor, the house is brick. Very similar description here http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtopic=190859
I rummaged on the Internet, under the description and in the picture it looks like they are black-bodied or false-bodied. I can't turn them over - I'm terribly afraid of insects.
I have real problems, as my daughter is afraid to stay at home.
How do I get these assholes out??? Please tell me!!!

This is the monster..... the image is no longer on the site: IMG_0283.jpg

Black-bodied beetle Tenebrio sp. (Tenebrio molitor most likely).
Maybe where do they live in cereals and flour? View your stocks

04.06.2008 0:06, guest: Necrocephalus

First of all, you should carefully sort through all your stocks of flour, cereals, all kinds of cookies, etc., because these beetles can multiply in such products.
If this is not the case , they may come to your apartment from the outside - for example, through the ventilation from the attic where birds live (in such conditions, species of this genus can also develop). In this case, you should find out exactly where the beetles get into the apartment and, if this is ventilation, put a strong mesh on the vent, for example.
You have the 5th floor. If it is the last floor in the building, then the second option is even more likely.
After the reason for the appearance of beetles in the apartment is clarified and eliminated-those that crawl will simply need to be collected (if you are afraid with your hands , you can use a vacuum cleaner, for example). You don't need to poison anyone.
Oh, and one more thing. If you find beetles in the supplies , you should store such products in an airtight container for some time, in order to avoid a repeat of the situation.
By the way, it may be that the beetles just fly to your apartment for the light... If there are not many of them (but judging by your description , this is a direct invasion), then this may be so. In this case, the grids on the windows will solve the problem.
