The question about Phasmatodea

Hello dear sirs! My problem is the following property: I've been doing terrariums for quite some time, but I've kept mostly vertebrate animals until now. But since I'm interested in various animals ( I'm a biology student) I decided to try my hand at keeping stick insects and cookies. Therefore, could more experienced amateurs and professional entomologists give me recommendations on the content of these groups of insects, recommend unpretentious species, and perhaps suggest where they can be purchased in Ukraine( the choice of arthropods in free sale does not shine with variety-mainly Madagascar cockroaches and a couple of species of bird-eating spiders) Thank you in advance. Sincerely Victor.

As for the cookies, I can advise you to start with annamky stick insects, Indian, sungai and Australians, they are generally unpretentious, you can buy them in Kiev. Donetsk. Odessa, Kharkov, I can throw you as much as you need ( I have a lot of them, they have grownsmile.gif), here is the soap hdhog@ua.fm.
Keeping them is simple: put them in a terrarium ( you can make them out of a former aquarium, but it is better to use a vertical type, put a jar on the bottom, make several small holes in the lid of which and put raspberries, oak, rosehips or Chinese roses in it), spray them several times a week, they are happy to drink water, you can put a newspaper on the bottom of the terrarium, you can pour sand, you can buy peat with earth ( but this is problematic because if you re-moisten the peat, then mold will appear), I put sand on the bottom in one terrarium, and in the second I didn't pour anything at all.
In the future, if you need to tell us something or help with their content, write to us!

By the way, I forgot to ask, don't you keep mantises by accident?
