it is similar to Pine (Hyloicus pinastri L.), but it is better to boil.

13.07.2008 14:35, Мих

Not pine. The body is uniformly gray, without yellow and black stripes,
and the sawyere seems to be different? Or am I wrong?

Vo battered the poor guy!

13.07.2008 22:42, Мих

This I cap unsuccessfully.. sorry.. I got the whole ones today, they look more like pine trees

13.07.2008 22:45, Мих

Tell us something about them.. please. how to dilute for example?

15.07.2008 21:33, Raptor

I don't know exactly how they breed, but if there is a fat female, then you can put a pine branch under her and keep it locked up.eggs can naklast.and there, as they hatch, so the troubles will begin. In short, as with all.

16.07.2008 0:11, Мих

They already did..

16.07.2008 10:00, Raptor

I'm going to fatten up two ocelli right now.just in a noodle box(square)the napkin is wet on it the leaves from the very tops lie and the caterpillars quietly eat them.I think as a teenager I will transplant them to branches in the aquarium.you probably also need to do better.I have willow leaves for three days before being replaced.and you have a pine tree how quickly it will dry up I don't know.a caterpillar lutshe do not touch, let them themselves on svezhachok crawl.and if the specialists have any other advice, I'll be happy to listen to it myself.

Kind of hard to say....too much and for a long time he was tortured before his death)))). Do not put the cages in direct sunlight, but pitch darkness will not suit them either. Keep an eye on humidity. If the cages are open (npr, with gauze), it may be too dry-the food will dry quickly, it will be too wet-all sorts of fungal diseases will start, and this is death! Calculate the excrement-also a source of caterpillar diseases. Pine in cages in general a week without replacement can lie.

What kind of death? he didn't live long after that shoot! He also laid eggs - on pine trees, he is definitely a pine

How many eggs did you get? I've never bred a pine hawk moth.....There was once a caterpillar, but it chose to escape from the cage in an unknown direction ((((

15 pieces each from the female.. I hung half of it on the branches of a pine tree, and I had to get the rest after my death frown.gif

The eggs will be unfertilized.

20.07.2008 19:45, Мих

Why? I kind of got out of them.., although I'm not sure what of those.

20.07.2008 23:16, Hemaris

Male sperm from a female is stored in a special organ-the bursa. Fertilization occurs immediately at the time of egg laying, so eggs extracted from the belly of a dead female cannot be fertilized.

21.07.2008 11:04, Мих

Strange.. And while this female was being eaten by the praying mantis, it could not accidentally touch this organ and fertilize the eggs.. I know it sounds silly, but three caterpillars came out of the female's torn abdomen today.

21.07.2008 13:01, Raptor

Does a fertilized female immediately lay all the available eggs without moving from her place?!!She flies further to the pond and searches for food plants(and for a long time) , and it is at this moment that the eggs of the caught female are already fertilized.and in general, it seems to me that fertilization should occur before the maturation of eggs.I also just caught a female and just let her out in the morning.and in the bank there were eggs from which good caterpillars came out,and now they feel great in the terarium....Mich,how are the caterpillars doing now?

21.07.2008 21:45, Мих

During the day uvalicheis 2 times, and turned green( were lemon-yellow)

22.07.2008 11:50, Hemaris

This is theoretically possible. I had a similar case with a female Hemaris tityus.

Spermatozoa remain viable in the bursa for a long time. At the time of egg laying, a drop of sperm falls on its surface and several sperm cells penetrate the shell through a micropile. After the egg is exposed to the air, its shell hardens and the micropile closes. If all the eggs were fertilized at once, the caterpillars would come out of the eggs laid later faster than those laid earlier, but this does not happen. At least this has been tested for hawkmoth and saturnia.

But in size, the eggs of butterflies never increase.
