There is nothing special, except that you need to find a caterpillar, which, however, is typical for other butterflies smile.gifto find a caterpillar on the plant that it eats, feed it in the cage with the same plant, after pupation, the butterfly hatches almost immediately, the pupa does not need wintering.

Yes, I think there are no specifics here (if you mean Inachis io). If in the middle lane:
collect in June, on nettles (usually they live in a cluster) such caterpillars as shown in the picture, on nettles you feed (pupa is shown here and in the second half of summer you have a butterfly smile.gif
I myself did not take it out even once because of bad weather (it is full of flies in nature): so just a guess. Maybe someone else will advise you.

When I was at school,I bred a whole clutch of eggs, but not a peacock's eye, but a hive.In terms of biological features, these two species of nymphalids are similar.
In the spring, I came across a female urticaria that laid eggs on nettles - eggs are laid on the underside of leaves...so if you're looking for eggs, look there.Eggs are light green in color...round shape...small ones. Before the caterpillars come out, they darken and turn grayish.
The eggs lay for about 5-7 days - then I waited for the caterpillars.About 70% of the entire masonry was removed.
With active feeding, they shed quickly.About feeding - you need, before laying fresh food, spray it with water from the usual "pshikalka"=)
By doing this, you give the caterpillars a certain amount of moisture in their cage and provide them with something to drink, since, especially after molting, the caterpillars willingly "dip" their heads in the water droplets they find on the food plants.
After the third molt, if there are a lot of caterpillars, it is better to divide them into a couple of groups...in particular, select a separate group of caterpillars that are less active or smaller in size than the rest.
There are no problems with pupation. In the pupal stage, give the caterpillars moisture - spray the pupae with the same" pshikalka " once a day.

Is it possible to manually pair Inachis io?

No, just like the other nymphalids. Sailboats, saturniums-please open the sexual apparatus.

Everything is correct writes Vasily find a good thicket of nettles, usually 50 caterpillars are fed or maybe more.I used to see two species feasting on
nettles.
