Today's hunting in Novgorodchine near Pskov region. Smolka rules! Even in cloudy weather, everything is buzzing and swarming. Mostly bumblebees are the bee kingdom. Yesterday, the first warm July day happened - the thermometer reached +25 And just managed to make a trip to Pleshcheyevo Lake, to see what is happening with the entomofauna and flora.
The results are strange (to say the least): a lot of May beetles in 5 minutes on the sunlit bushes counted more than two dozen, mostly males.
At the beginning of the twelfth, they actively crawl on leaves and twigs, eat, and dry themselves after the previous day's downpours. On the forest road near the puddles clusters of poplar tapeworms.
In general, the daytime" scales " are the ones that should fly in the first half of June - golubyanka Amanda, mother-of-pearl tavolzhanka and Selena, black-brown eye, meadow hay... although there are also hawthorns.
Beetle is also mostly "June" - for example, nutcrackers, some hidden heads... I don't think I caught anything particularly interesting

Somehow, they came to the light only once, but there was no error at all. Everything was caught on baits, at the approach to which clouds of catocals rose, Fruit baits were not effective, becausek. they were almost immediately eaten by dormice, of which there were simply countless, both types. There were very few beetles, and the screens were used to collect them on the way to the baits, but there was nothing particularly interesting there, and what was made of bombicoids was all at Grigory's. The photos show part of the catch. In general, as it turned out in the south of the Russian Federation, more than half of the moths are katokals!
