WE TRANSFER ENVY FROM ISRAEL TO SOUTH AFRICA!

Great trip turned out! All the familiar places...
And there is nothing to envy, the south of South Africa is essentially the Mediterranean, but on the other side of the Earth. So living in Israel, you are already in South Africa! smile.gif
On 1 photo: one of the mountains in the middle of Natal, around-originally a grassy steppe, now almost entirely planted with Christmas tree plantations, Christmas trees are used for making paper. In the needle litter and grow porcini mushrooms, which are visible above in the report. By the way, there are mushroom mosquitoes in South Africa, and quite a few species, but they do not damage these white ones, a fact!
In 2 photos: setting up yellow water trap plates along a stream in the Drakensberg mountains.
On 3 photos: Chymenoptera collections in alcohol. Each bubble contains 200-300 copies of various parasitic riders, 90% of them are new species! jump.gif wall.gif
On 4.5 photos: examples of the fauna of proctotrupoid horsemen of South Africa

Are plates like artificial mushrooms?

yellow plates attract elephants. So it's also good to catch glitters - a lot arrives.

No, Arthur is like artificial flowers...

Ehhh, Andryusha, who else would pass them on?..

... ... ...
P.S. soap dishes?

With the Fae.

The population treats white tourists with consumerism, but calmly. Permission is obtained for half a year through the museum, only for strictly defined parks, for a specific scientific topic! To be honest, it's ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to get it. Just like in Australia. You can not catch in parks, but there is NO nature! Eaten and plowed for corn and cane, every last inch of it. There are no large mammals at all, they were eaten long ago, only in parks. Parks are protected as strategic objects. There are 40 million people in Johannesburg, and perhaps half of them are starving refugees scattered across the country.

Dear Pavel,
A big request in the following photo reports immediately mention the possibility for ordinary mortals (simple lovers of entomology), which is also quite a lot on the forum, repeating your feats in collecting insects in exotic places. And then here is so raskataesh lips, but pereditesh your last post - and a complete bummer. Just write right away that we got to the next issue of the " Kinoputeshestvennikov Club "in this case, the" Internetputeshestvennikov Club", so that white envy does not grow into a" black toad " - it has already strangled half the country, I do not want to be included in this number. I'm getting stronger with all my strength, but it's hard to resist looking at such unattainable wealth. Don't be offended by the post, I just really want to.

What does "simple amateurs" mean? Does the complexity-simplicity-depend on the ability to fulfill the desire to go to Africa overnight? How's it going with Kozma Prutkov? If you want to be happy, be happy? That's it! Opportunity is a relative concept. In short, let's drink to the fact that our desires coincide with our capabilities!!! beer.gif beer.gif beer.gif And Pavel-many thanks beer.gif beer.gif beer.gif(he is also not a celestial being, but a simple mortal shuffle.gifAnd a hard worker!!!). Envy-away! Let's be happy for our colleague!!!

It's not an easy trip, but it's a good one. There is not much material collected, because the season is dry. 4 countries - South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi. The overall impression is one of poverty, devastated nature, and overpopulation. 9,000 km covered. Good fees based on my interests. Overall rating-solid 4.

Hello!
I want to share my experience of catching dung beetles in Ethiopia, where I have been several times to the Abyssinian Highlands in the area of Bahar Dar, Lake Baikal. Tana, height 1800 m.The rainy season there lasts from June to September. Tada and I visited in October and November. There were beetles, of course. But they also have a small rainy season in April and May. I was there once in May. In May, there are more beetles and the variety is higher, because, apparently, everything comes to life after a drought. In autumn, many species are no longer found. All this is true only for one point where I managed to catch them.

Tell me please.
In March, I'm going to go to Kenya, mostly for dung beetles, but after all, you can't get out of your car on safari. Maybe someone knows in which parks or even where there is an opportunity to dig in the manure.
Thank you for your reply in advance.

3 it seems that Mylothris agathina is not listed for Ethiopia, although it is found in neighboring Kenya. You also need to check for Mylothris erlangeri and Mylothris rueppelli
5-Colias erate or Colias electo-spread. it will be visible.
