These ones are all Melitaea didyma.
That is Melitaea didyma.
Seems to be Melitaea didyma, but can just be similar to. I'll check it out.
Think, that one is Coenonympha thyrsis.
Seems like Coenonympha thyrsis. Would be better to have more different images of this species from this very place.
Prodotis stolida one.
That one is Prodotis stolida.
Gotcha. Balsa leodura (Staudinger, 1887).
Vasily, be brave, there can be only Pieris brassicae. :) Male or female? Can't say with this angle. :(
Very common regalis. They can look rather different depending on color intensity.
Not Pyralis regalis but Hypsopygia costalis.
Synev and www.faunaeur.org in Russia determine this one like Pontia edusa. I'll add this to the catalog.
According to Synev and www.faunaeur.org, in Russia it's Pontia edusa. There are some different opinions about that, but we decided to reference these sources.
This one is not Anthocharis cardamines but Pontia edusa (Fabricius, 1777).
Mistake, this is Pontia edusa (Fabricius, 1777).
Looks rather like Arenostola phragmitidis, but symmetrical dark spots in the center of the wing make it questionable. Can be defects though, so size is interesting also.
"Imago" should be changed to "caterpillar". #9834 shot too. :)
Sphinx ligustri.
Without specifying the place of photographing, the question arises as Hyles livornica not it?
Eilema griseolum (Hübner, [1803]) (nominative subspecies, only one on the continent)? Eilema vetustum (Walker, 1854)?, Eilema coreanum (Leech, [1889] 1888)?, Eilema digna Ignatyev et Witt, 2007? Repeat my question: to what of these three?
To what species of three?
In Primorye region these three species of griseolum group are hardly identified by appearance. But surely by genitalia: http://fen.nsu.ru/~vvdubat/Lithosiinae/Lithosiinaelist.html.
First identifying was right, this is Catocala promissa.
ja-ja, hyperantus :)
That's it.
Cnaemidophorus rhododactyla.
Hyles gallii.
A very wide range of the species from France to Japan. Just here on the site indicated only European distribution. Take a look:
http://www-sbras.nsc.ru/win/elbib/atlas/Arctiidae/178.html
Species databased, move now.
Malacosoma castrensis.
Malacosoma castrensis.
Nola cicatricalis.
Apatura ilia.
Right.
By Synev, 2008 and http://www.faunaeur.org/, yes, Resapamea hedeni.
Heliothis maritima.
It belonged previously to Mesapamea genus, but the species is not databased. Should be added.
Problepsis, phoebearia, Erschov, 1870.
No, this is Myelois circumvoluta.
That's it.
Catocala sponsa.
Problepsis, phoebearia, Erschov, 1870.
But now it's already sure thing. And still "uncertain" :(
Hey, what's up!?. Even family is different. This is Zeuzera pyrina.
No, Petr, that's not bug. :) This is Noctua pronuba.
:)
Aphomia sociella.
Hyles gallii.
This species is identified correctly.
Yes. Arctia caja (Linnaeus, 1758).
Hyles gallii caterpillar (Rottemburg, 1775).
