Might it have been atropos flew in? lachesis seems to have darker hindwings as well as reddish hue in the "chin" area of the skull pattern, doesn't it?
Seems to be male, considering descriptions, couldn't find upperside photos though. As for butterfly—ant symbiosis, might be in this case since I found it with a group of ants which I took away. Yesterday I spread it, such an amazing form, I'll upload it as it gets dried completely. Suspect though it might lose its blue color for it's gradually getting more purple.

Meh, so that is it! Once you move it to identified I'll add mine two with description. Caterpillars oddly feed solely on plantains that are not mentioned as feed plants anywhere.
Thanks, you convinced me. Here the mass flight happened in the very mid-April and specimens were colored quite variously. Sorry for doubt, I was confused with the wikipedia description, here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catopsilia_pomona where they differ a lot.
I ask a question - whether there is still a division into Catopsilia crocale and Catopsilia pomona (at the first black mustache, the second - reddish)
Originally the wing stripes are colored white (there they might seem different because of the background color), I've got a poor photo made the same day, in shoals, where the stripes are of bright white. Second difference we can see on the shot shown is in its clearly seen transparent fringe at the white stripes frontiers on a forewing. Also, there are distinctions between genitalia, whatsoever, ...
