Stas, why don't you bathe them? And where does crenulatus like to live?

Specifically, I did not particularly try to wash these copies. But in any case, the shine of my dry costatus is not. By the way, slightly light spots on the disc of their elytra are not dirt, but something like a brownish pattern.
Krenulyatiusy me popabalis in mud (soil, silt) on the shores of lakes and near puddles once. But it seems like they can also be found on the sand. Often covered with a layer of dirt and almost invisible until they start to move.

Added to Alexey's website two videos with Georissus costatus in the habitat. You can't see the details, but as Roman pointed out, they run fast enough smile.gif

Stas, this is amazing! Did you deliberately preserve your natural camouflage?

Thank smile.gifyou Yes, as caught, and left. Something has crumbled for sure and cracks after drying are visible on the seam and from the bottom to the side.

A new view?

so far, no one can say this, because the specialists have not seen it. I can't take a picture through mbs, because I have a photo with 52 holes in it. There is a microscope for micro-preparations, but I don't attach anything to it either. it is necessary to look for either a narmalny mikrik with a photo, or to construct a drawing projector, but with drawing I finally have trouble. and my portable usb microscope does not focus and magnification to x60 at a resolution of 680*480 frown.gif
