Opatrum sabulosum L.

09.03.2007 8:42, Dmitry Vlasov

If the size of the darkling is really 12-15 mm, then it is definitely not Opatrum sabulosum L. , it is 6-8 mm.

09.03.2007 10:44, omar

Definitely not Opatrum sabulosum! You need to specify the dimensions more precisely, then it will be visible. Most likely, Opatrum triste. The largest of the genus Opatrum in the European part of the CIS and the Crimean endemic. It doesn't occur often. But its size is also no more than 12 mm. A sabulosum is quite a case and 10 mm smile.gif

09.03.2007 13:05, okoem

Thank you all for your help in identifying it!
Exactly what is not 6-8. Rather 12. When I photographed it, I forgot to measure it, unfortunately. And there were quite a lot of such beetles there.

09.03.2007 15:57, omar

Opatrum triste at 99%. jump.gif

Didn't you get the bug?" eek.gif
In vain, very much in vain. They would collect the material, if they are not interested in beetles, then at least they would take

Exchange, alas, is also not interested. I'm not a collector. That's why I don't take beetles. Only butterflies, and not all of them.

Tell me what kind of animal it is. The label can be seen through the die, if anything, I will clarify.

Before the appearance, it is necessary to look at the genitals of all labidostomis.

10.03.2007 17:04, omar

In the European part, not everyone has it. Most types are defined quite simply.

10.03.2007 21:39, okoem

What is the name of the beetles?
Staphylin - about 12 mm
Cow-about 5 mm
Medlyak-about 25 mm
Label: Crimea, foothills, surroundings of Stary Krym (Kurskoye village), March 10, 2007

The slug is most likely Blaps lethifera. To be absolutely sure, you need a top view. smile.gif

Well, judging by the label labidostomis is not from the European part-Khabarovsk Krai.

Lower reaches of the Amur River (Ulchsky district). There was a choice between Labidostomis sibirica and L. amurensis. Even if there are drawings of both types of mandibles, I can't choose. Maybe someone has a description?

11.03.2007 14:02, Bad Den

Like in the "Determinant of insects of the Far East of the USSR" clear signs are given?
In amurensis, in addition to the shape of the mandibles, there should also be a strong accumulation on the forehead. In addition, these species are divided according to their location - sibirica is a steppe species, caught on caraghan, and amurensis-in forests, on birch, hazel.
This is according to the "Determinant" such data.

12.03.2007 1:36, Vadim Yakubovich

So, according to this determinant, I can't make out: the signs are suitable for Sibirica ( but again, a strong indentation is nothing to compare with) and the place of capture is suitable for amurensis

12.03.2007 5:24, Vadim Yakubovich

And then there's another question: help me identify these comrades. Also Lower Amur

I have various indefinite beetles in my storerooms, and I'll probably never be able to determine them myself. Maybe someone has already met with such creatures:

1. From northern Primorye. There, this species is quite widespread, usually found along the banks of mountain rivers.

And this is already from ancient collections, I don't remember how I ended up with them:

2. Like some kind of scorer. On the label is the address - Morocco.

3. Turkmen chernotelka.

Darkling - Opatrum sabulosum; elephant-something from Cleonini (possibly Pseudocleonus marginicollis Gyll., but not sure).

Good afternoon!
Tell me, please, and who is this? It seems to me that this is a Large spruce barbel (Monochamus urussovi). Am I right or wrong?

A beetle was shot in the vicinity of Lake Seliger.

Thanks!
