It looks like a Europhilus, but why is it in an anthill? They're hanging out by the water. Besides, the picture sucks! It would be visible normally, you can determine. If it really turns out to be Europhilus, it may be an interesting find for the Moscow region.

Duc, the anthill could have been near the water... In general, the set is very strange for an anthill...

Wintered in it... confused.gif

22.03.2007 14:37, omar

The fact that they wintered is understandable. Just coastal beetles are usually buried in any coastal obscenity for wintering.

22.03.2007 16:45, Zhuk

Yes, the anthill (s) were near the river. I was still poking around in the trash, probably messed up a little smile.gif shuffle.gif
Beetle: The photo really sucks, and you can tell from itwall.gif, but beetle #3 is probably Agonum assimile. What color is the leaf beetle?

The leaf beetle is dark blue in color, rounded smooth and has longitudinal grooves on the elytra, size 4 mm. Beetle No. 3 is 7mm long, all black. The rest are 6 mm long, completely black, the legs are dark brown. Maybe it will help
Unfortunately I can't take a better picture frown.gif

22.03.2007 17:45, Bad Den

6 mm is closer to Bembidion, or shallow Agonum (s. l.)

Yes, the anthill (s) was near the river
Then Elizar is right, more like a Europhilus. I recommend that you bring it to view and let us know.
I was also confused by the fact that No. 3 is lying a little sideways.

22.03.2007 17:56, omar

Elizar is probably also right about the pterostichae, and it's definitely not Bembidion or Agonum. smile.gif

The leaf beetle is similar to the "horseradish babanukha", i.e. a representative of the genus Phaedon.

The leaf beetle was identified as P. armoraciae L.

Zhuk- Europhilus 100%
The second, as Elizar said, is most likely a pterostichus.

RippeR: 3 m-food: Chisinau 20.04.05-Silpha carinata Hbst. The second one is somewhat similar to Thanatophilus, but I can't say for sure. The fourth Nicrophorus to the species should be looked closer. But similar to N. vespilloides Hbst. Although I found them more often than on carrion, in rotten mushrooms and similar substrates.

Well, yes, sort of like a six-piece... Then the Iberian, although I didn't see them in that area, mostly all ordinary deer.

Dead eaters from Moldavia and Chlaenius with a border of leicht zu bestimmen by volume II, or even just by visiting http://koleopterologie.de/, but Chlaenius without a border - a question for a specialist. And drag geotrup to Odessa. Khrushchev from the Crimea-Miltotrogus sp. I still recommend that you, Okoem, collect the material and at least throw it on cotton wool for subsequent processing - and the definitions will be more reliable, and specialists will be interested.

Okoyem: Really, styerlease is telling the truth. This is especially true for small beetles. You manage to find good views.

Alas, one cannot embrace the immensity. Bugs, of course, are also interesting, but I actually do butterflies (+ since this season - even dragonflies and spiders). Already closer to summer, there are often not enough hands to collect even everything that comes across from Lepidoptera, in general, there are no more beetles...
And now there are still a few butterflies, so I photograph Coleoptera, Hemiptera and other animals in order not to climb mountains in vain.
And if something is not determined by the photo , then it's not terrible:-)

...I apologize for the OFFTOP.

Chlaenius, the bigger one, so festivus. Small should be nitidulus -also passes through the "green"

I was shooting on the southern slope of the mountain, on a scree, terraced and planted with thuja and pine, sitting under a stone. The sea is about three kilometers away.

"You manage to find good views."
Thank you!
Most of the beetles photographed are common in the vicinity of Feodosia.

Okoyem: I asked the question about the seashore, because this species often washes off the fields in large numbers and throws waves on the coast smile.gifIn the Crimea, I met such mulch quite often in the spring. About the types common to Feodosia - not all of them are common to the Crimea-IMHO. Although I am a Muscovite, I have traveled quite a lot in the Crimea, I have not been only in 2 cities. Good luck! And new good pictures. smile.gif

9-not a pterostichus, a ripper, but something good and cool. I don't know yet. If possible, the size of it. The trail behind it is Dromius some kind of green if.
