a 1 case not pterostichus angustatus

Nos. 1 and 2 have two pits on the elytra. Apparently, you are right that this is melanarius.
I'll go check the keys.
What about Nos. 3 and 4?

Irina, No. 4-Amara. And Pter. melanarius and Pter.niger differ well in males. Pt. niger males have a clearly visible keel on the last sternum of the abdomen (even with the naked eye).

# 3-it also seems to be Amara.

No. 2 was determined as melan (according to YY), tk the rear corners of the prsp in the form of small protruding denticles + 2 pores. In GG, however, it is marked as "South".

No. 1 prsp is completely different, but there is no keel, and there are no pores... 2 pores on the ndkr, do Niger have them?

And #1 - no and not niger! It seems to have a pronotum with rounded corners?

Maybe it's Pter. melas?

By 3 and 4, it turns out that

№ 3 Amara communis Pz.(YY) tc 3 the first segments of the whiskers are yellow, the pore of the prsp is distant from the edge
No. 4 Amara aenea Dg. (YY) tc 3 the first segments of the mustache are red, it is time for PRSP at the very edge

Can this be the case?

N 1 for YY does not "break through" what is it?
In this beetle, I noticed that its prsp is distinguished by the fact that at the edges of the base of the prsp there is a strongly protruding keel, the back part of which ends in the very corner of the PRSP with a large bristle

Does it have a metal pronotum or is it buggy for me?

No, not metal. This is a reflection from the scanner.
Good evening

I would describe the color as follows. Semi-matt black, glossy prsp, but without metal

aethiops does not pass, because my beetle has the 5th (claw)segment without bristles, male sternite without cavities, 2 pores on the ndcr, not 3

2-think Pterostichus melanarius.

2-I think that Pterostichus melanarius.

Is this the same as melan by YY, or are they different species?

18.03.2010 2:49, omar

One more time.
Nos. 1 and 2 have both the 5th segment of the legs completely bare without bristles, both have 2 pores in the 3rd furrow, both have the first sternite smooth. The difference is in the rear outer edge of the prsp: # 2 has small corners protruding, # 1 does not have them, and the rear corner of the prsp is rounded.

No. 1-May 8 Mozhaisky district of the Moscow
Region No. 2 end of May Volokolamsk district of the Moscow Region

I haven't steamed them from the die yet. I'll do it late tonight, then I'll come back to this question. I'll also scan it from below.

18.03.2010 19:16, omar

it is better not to use rectangular dies for mounting pterostiches and harpals. glue on triangles. NCDs are almost always needed for identification in these genera.

Yes, I agree, I now transfer all my beetles from large cubes to small side ones, and small beetles to side pentagons and triangles. In the process of this procedure, I scan and upload it here.

n...yes, I'm not sure, such different prsp, but still thank you very much, and I'll set the sp for myself in the meantime. I think it will be possible to catch the No. 1 series at the beginning of May, and by winter I will buy a new scanner, then we will return to them, if, of course, there are no other opinions now.

Thank You
