And where in the MO does Cucullia fraudatrix occur and how often?

03.12.2007 18:01, AntSkr

I've seen her quite often this year in the Stupinsky district. I wouldn't say it's rare... pretty banal...

? Xanthorhoe sp. and Idaea sp?

I think E. rivata, I. sylvestraria, but unusual some

04.12.2007 15:01, okoem

No, it doesn't look like E. rivata... The most similar thing I found is Xanthorhoe montanata (on ukmoths.org.uk)
Idaea sylvestraria-very likely. But there are other similar types...

Hello! Could you try to identify the butterfly by its description? Po-moemukto-that from volnyanok. Just the fact that there is only 1 copy, and too shabby, well, there is no camera.
The butterfly is nocturnal, completely white, fluffy, the wingspan of the female is 5-5. 5 cm, the males are smaller. A characteristic feature is that the legs of both sexes are striped (covered with alternating transverse black and white stripes). In females, the end of the abdomen is blunt, not pubescent and has a pink color. In males, this area is profusely pubescent, the antennae are pinnate. Definitely not a golden tail!
Please help me, I can't find it in any determinant.
Caterpillars do not seem to be polyphages, I only ate aspen. G. also pubescent, on the first 3 molts - black with white spots on the back.
In the future, the color of the caterpillars is very similar to the "kokonopryadovskaya" - white spots, stripes, red warts with tufts of hair.
The caterpillar twists a light cocoon, the pupa is glossy black and, surprisingly, with several colors. tufts of yellow hairs.

Euproctis similis?
or Leucoma salicis?

If the warts are red, then Leucoma salicis is more likely smile.gif
And only her legs are mottled:
