I find it difficult to identify this scoop. Judging by the hairy eyes - from Hadeninae.

Please tell me!

Is this a case of Pseudohermonassa melancholica (Lederer, 1853)?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/10EQs9YoN9N...iew?usp=sharing

If it's her, what is she doing in the Urals?

23.07.2020 23:27, Ilia Ustiantcev

It may be spreading. This year, a very similar scoop was posted on inaturalist, which I couldn't identify. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/53722007

And from the Southern Urals there is a find as early as 2017: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/35444610

A week ago, I found a cover on Ivan-tea. Today the caterpillars came out. How to bring them to the imago?

Pandora's fucking aberration?

03.08.2020 14:08, Жорик 61

it looks more like a forest one but the drawings don't get

03.08.2020 14:11, Жорик 61

wingspan 55

03.08.2020 15:02, ИНО

Yes, according to the drawing, it does not get anywhere - a brightly degenerate aberrant. I assumed pandora by the color of the underside of the front wings, the paphii usually does not have a red hue there. But now I Googled "Argynnis paphia ab." - there are indeed very similar photos, while the query " Argynnis pandora ab."issue with gulkin's nose. But in any case, it's hardly a third party.

03.08.2020 20:17, Жорик 61

for the forest, it's too much a bright brick color, so this is confusing for the most part

03.08.2020 20:36, Жорик 61

yes, similar to ours, but why was it referred to the forest? the bottom picture does not roll at all to any mother of pearl

03.08.2020 20:48, Жорик 61

and the beauty is that I have a female, and a similar capture is a male

I wonder if there are structural features that are not related to color to separate the females of these species? Well, there, maybe, genitals to cook? Something is silent lepidopterologists.
