Recently, thanks to the Internet, it has become much easier to find, buy or sell this or that literature on insects. The proposed page is designed to simplify the search, purchase and sale of scientific and popular second-hand literature.

I saw it in Alibe.ru they sell a very interesting and useful book on lepidoptera:

This is the first scientific book on butterflies that I came across in a long, long time... Chetverikov's essay, table and comments on our butterflies of the European part of Russia was and remains an example for me in my work on lepidoptera research.

Of course, the design of the dust jacket is clumsy and the designer simply had to consult with the author of the book regarding this design. However, I do not know what the book is about, and the title cannot immediately deny the possibility that there are some references to morpho butterflies in the text. Nevertheless, the names "Altai Diary" and " travels for butterflies "are marked with a "bullet", which means that the works are different. But there is a serious violation of the rules of typography-initials should be separated by a space: "V. S. Murzin", and not"V. S. Murzin".

This book was carefully read last winter - several books were brought from Moscow by Vyacheslav Tremasov. Interesting and very instructive stories about the travels and adventures of a naturalist in distant lands from the collection "Travels for butterflies".
.. a twofold and somewhat ambiguous impression is left by the tragic narration of the first work "Altai Diary"...
The price is small, there are very interesting stories, why not buy it... over time, it will become a rarity... sorry, it's impossible to sign with the author. And where does he live now and what else did he write???

Condition: close to good. A lost fragment of the text sheet has been restored. Old stamp of the institution.

No wonder....
Our museum in the early 90's bought a lot of books from the library of the YAEIO (Yaroslavl Est. ist. island), after its defeat, transferred to the library of the ped, not the museum. In that book, they were safely saved(not at all what you thought, but written off due to "lack of demand - including rarities of the XVIII-early XIX centuries) and taken out of b-ki home....

And I was naively looking for Kokuev's book, 1909 in Yaroslavl... kick-ass... to say the least.

Here in Alibi saw someone selling a very rare and useful book (now!!! the print run is minuscule...) on the insects of Prisny, 2003. I liked it-a good zoogeographic (insects) work on the review of the Belgorod region for many orders of insects.

I read the Altai Diary in manuscript. Vladimir Sergeyevich himself gave it to me once.
Vladimir Sergeyevich Murzin was a very versatile person, a professor at Moscow State University, a leading researcher at the Institute of Nuclear Physics, made a number of important discoveries, published many works on nuclear physics.
Traveling extensively in the USSR and other countries, he collected a huge collection of lepidoptera.
Many people know the popular beautifully illustrated children's book "Blue Swallowtail". His talent as a writer was excellent.
He died in June 2007

On Alibi, I saw a very remarkable book being sold - something very cheap... they gave it to me a long time ago (it cost 300 rubles then). The department of lepidoptera in the British Museum is described in a funny way, and a lot of other things....

While on vacation I read books - I read the story of Nikolai Nikonov (Yekaterinburg) "Ornithopter Rothschild" published by him in the magazine Ural Pathfinder" 1990 № 10, 11 and 12.
a complex contradictory feeling... what he copied from Russell ("Malay Archipelago" - is this book in Russian???) and Bates is interesting... his own gathering (namely GATHERING)... described by the way very colorful, but incredibly boring..... purchase at the end of the story by the author of a large series of tropical butterflies... has anyone mastered this piece? What is known about the author and where did his collection of lepidoptera go???
