Recently, thanks to the Internet, it has become much easier to find, buy or sell this or that literature on insects. The proposed page is designed to simplify the search, purchase and sale of scientific and popular second-hand literature.

I saw it in Alibe.ru they sell a very interesting and useful book on lepidoptera:

Chetverikov S. S.
Fauna and biology of lepidoptera.
Novosibirsk. Nauka 1984. 104 p. Softcover, Regular format. Edition of 1,350 copies. Price 200 rub
. (BS-Hobbit) All copies on sale
Condition: Very good.

This is the first scientific book on butterflies that I came across in a long, long time... Chetverikov's essay, table and comments on our butterflies of the European part of Russia was and remains an example for me in my work on lepidoptera research.

13.04.2012 17:53, Юстус

It makes no sense to create a topic that literally duplicates an existing one (in the branch "Equipment and materials": "Buy / sell literature" - http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtopic=97288&st=0),- I don't see.
m. b., do you have some "hidden" meaning-in dubbing?

Too late, batenko, to drink beer... - only "Borjomi" ... and even then...
Penzyak "disdained" the apostrophe-it turned out to be Alibe; if he had used the spelling sign in the form of a superscript comma, it would have turned out "in Alib'e" (i.e., I act as a certain interpreter, we are talking about http://www.alib.ru)...
Save your kidneys...

14.04.2012 20:18, Юстус

This is me so (tactfully, I suppose) I tried to "hint" that literacy is in demand not only among entomologists (See: "Tula Entomological Journal"), but also in ... Intirnet. And as for beer (and fly agarics) - once again (together with the Ministry of Health): save your kidneys…

Here's another nice book on Alibe.ru

When will our country learn how to create a normal cover design?
When they get rid of laziness and learn to read in English (at least), i.e. never.
Especially in lousy publishing houses.

The first edition had a completely normal," classic " cover.

Do English publications have super-duper cover designs? I got the joke. Smishno.

It is necessary to write funny

05.06.2012 20:13, Bianor

Not in this case. Because it's not funny... By occupation, I had to take a serious interest in design, but in fact it turned out that there was something to learn only from the Germans, partly from the French. American design in general is a fierce shame from the series"you don't have to do that!"

PS
Of course, the design of the dust jacket is clumsy and the designer simply had to consult with the author of the book regarding this design. However, I do not know what the book is about, and the title cannot immediately deny the possibility that there are some references to morpho butterflies in the text. Nevertheless, the names "Altai Diary" and " travels for butterflies "are marked with a "bullet", which means that the works are different. But there is a serious violation of the rules of typography-initials should be separated by a space: "V. S. Murzin", and not"V. S. Murzin".

This book was carefully read last winter - several books were brought from Moscow by Vyacheslav Tremasov. Interesting and very instructive stories about the travels and adventures of a naturalist in distant lands from the collection "Travels for butterflies".
.. a twofold and somewhat ambiguous impression is left by the tragic narration of the first work "Altai Diary"...
The price is small, there are very interesting stories, why not buy it... over time, it will become a rarity... sorry, it's impossible to sign with the author. And where does he live now and what else did he write???

I've seen his book on bears...

Kokuev N. R. Tables for determining hymenopteran insects of Central Russia. Proceedings of the Yaroslavl Natural History Society. Volume II. Yaroslavl. Typog-I am A. G. Falk. 1909 [4] + 228c. Hardcover, regular format. 2 tables (51 + 26 fig.) on incl.
(Seller: BS-arturlib, Moscow.) Price 700 rubles.
Condition: close to good. A lost fragment of the text sheet has been restored. Old stamp of the institution.
See: book view-title page-index

It is sad, but this copy was once stolen in the library of the Penza Museum of Local Lore or even earlier in the "FIELD" society-the Penza Society of Natural History Lovers (1901-1929). As evidenced by the stamp on the title page...
After a long search, I bought such a book for a lot of money in electronic form... second-hand booksellers.

No wonder....
Our museum in the early 90's bought a lot of books from the library of the YAEIO (Yaroslavl Est. ist. island), after its defeat, transferred to the library of the ped, not the museum. In that book, they were safely saved(not at all what you thought, but written off due to "lack of demand - including rarities of the XVIII-early XIX centuries) and taken out of b-ki home....

30.07.2012 10:50, Penzyak

.. are the books still intact???

And I was naively looking for Kokuev's book, 1909 in Yaroslavl... kick-ass... to say the least.

Here in Alibi saw someone selling a very rare and useful book (now!!! the print run is minuscule...) on the insects of Prisny, 2003. I liked it-a good zoogeographic (insects) work on the review of the Belgorod region for many orders of insects.

Prisny A.V. Extrazonal groupings in the fauna of terrestrial insects of the south of the Central Russian upland. Belgorod. Belgorod State University. 2003. 296 p. Cover. Standard format. Price 2000 rubles
(BS-Natalya)
Based on the study of the modern terrestrial insect fauna in the south of the Central Russian Upland and the reconstruction of the dynamics of the landscape situation in this region, extrazonal faunal groups are identified and their relict origin is justified. With reference to the current state of landscapes and taking into account the peculiarities of the distribution of extrazonal groupings, the territory is zoned. For the first time, a differentiated assessment of trends in changes in the state of various zonal and extrazonal groupings is presented. The paper presents faunal lists of 95 insect families. The results of the study are of interest to entomologists, ecologists, landscape scientists and nature conservationists. Content: 1. Area, material and methods of research. Characteristics of the research area. Material and methods of research. 2. History of landscapes in the south of the Central Russian Upland in the late Tertiary and Quaternary periods. 3. History of studying the insect fauna of the south of the Central Russian Upland. 4. Model taxa. 5. Relict hypothesis of the origin of extrazonal communities on the Central Russian upland. Terminology. Typification of relict fauna elements. Typification of relict fauna elements. 6. Extrazonal groups and relict complexes of terrestrial insects and their distribution in the region. I read the Altai Diary in manuscript. Vladimir Sergeyevich himself gave it to me once.
Vladimir Sergeyevich Murzin was a very versatile person, a professor at Moscow State University, a leading researcher at the Institute of Nuclear Physics, made a number of important discoveries, published many works on nuclear physics.
Traveling extensively in the USSR and other countries, he collected a huge collection of lepidoptera.
Many people know the popular beautifully illustrated children's book "Blue Swallowtail". His talent as a writer was excellent.
He died in June 2007

On Alibi, I saw a very remarkable book being sold - something very cheap... they gave it to me a long time ago (it cost 300 rubles then). The department of lepidoptera in the British Museum is described in a funny way, and a lot of other things....

Russell Sharman Ept.
A novel with butterflies. How a man fell in love with an insect. Series: Things in themselves. M. Kolibri. 2005. 229c. hardcover, regular format. Price 90 rubles
(BS-svetlana) All copies on sale
In this elegant book, all characters are equal and still interesting: the treacherous parasite-riders who lie in wait for the caterpillar, the queen butterflies entwined in an eight-hour post-marital flight, the eighteenth-century English naturalist Elinor Glanville, who was denounced as a madwoman for her passion for lepidoptera, and the American Professor Vladimir Nabokov, giving a lecture about butterflies to dumbfounded Slavic students. A true parenting novel from the life of insects, seasoned with the history of science, or rather, the history of scientific obsession.
Condition: new books, excellent

While on vacation I read books - I read the story of Nikolai Nikonov (Yekaterinburg) "Ornithopter Rothschild" published by him in the magazine Ural Pathfinder" 1990 № 10, 11 and 12.
a complex contradictory feeling... what he copied from Russell ("Malay Archipelago" - is this book in Russian???) and Bates is interesting... his own gathering (namely GATHERING)... described by the way very colorful, but incredibly boring..... purchase at the end of the story by the author of a large series of tropical butterflies... has anyone mastered this piece? What is known about the author and where did his collection of lepidoptera go???
