Friends, I did not pursue the goal of showing everyone what I have "beautiful" hawkmoth. It just seems to me that collections become a collection only after they are sorted into groups and put in their own boxes (naturally, certain ones). The design principle should be clear, not necessarily a systematic approach, but by region, by expedition, from the point of view of aesthetics, in the end (for example, I completely understand how NicoSander designed its collection. He has a right, this is his collection!)
It's just that the butterflies of different groups from different places put together in a pile seem to me to be a temporary repository of entomological material, not a collection at all.
You can have a minimum of boxes, not a lot of butterflies, but arrange it so that it will not be a collection, but a "candy" - everyone will envy.

Once again, this is my personal opinion.
Below are two more of my boxes:

cajarc, great fees! I would also really like to see cocoonworms, for example, those that are not in the topic about them (or still put them in that topic), but I still want to see their series...

And you can list the first row and the genus Trichiura (and what is the Eriogaster one?)? And Takanea from Kunashir? C. lobulina from different places, why such a strong variability?

06.06.2008 15:07, Grigory Grigoryev

Myself.

Fourth row from the left, the top butterfly in the bear box is a kaya, only the yellow form?

All butterflies in the box - A. caja

Colleagues Muscovites
Have photos but there is no technology for displaying them in the Net
Can anyone help!

and in what form of photo? printed from film (if yes, you can scan it, but you will need to be careful with color reproduction), digital (if yes, the image format and size). I can help you post it on the Internet with a link to the author on my site. I recently started making it out, and if there is a result, I plan to move it to paid hosting with the implementation of a searchable database. If anyone has a desire to join us!

Yes, these females are also Colias chlorocoma: white and yellow-green forms. All 3 are from Armenia.

And I don't have any more.
But there are Erebia aethiops (Armenia) male, Erebia legea (a pair from the Urals), I can change.

12.06.2008 18:54, igorbiol

In the last box, the first row(vertical), the first two-Chazara bishofi?

12.06.2008 19:26, Solarway

Yes, they are the same.

12.06.2008 21:00, Grigory Grigoryev

Naturally, yes

13.06.2008 10:27, igorbiol

And if it's not a secret from where?

13.06.2008 18:05, Grigory Grigoryev

I think it's from Armenia. This is, as it were, logical, looking at other butterflies.....

13.06.2008 21:04, Solarway

That's right, my friends, I have a lot of butterflies from Armenia, including the discussed yellow butterflies.

13.06.2008 21:44, Grigory Grigoryev

Dear Solarway, did you go there in person or.....?

14.06.2008 11:08, Solarway

Unfortunately, not personally. I bought them.

Good afternoon! Let me add my five kopecks... These are mainly last year's fees. I'm sorry for disrespecting taxonomy when distributing material in boxes. The penultimate one is for the box scale. The geography of the fees is located in the Kaluga Region.

However, you heartily "nakvasili" them, it's nice to see! That would shuffle the groups, and it will be quite OK!

24.06.2008 13:32, unicum

In the main collection and spread it out... Well, by the way, not so much, in my opinion... Within; -)

Apollons from the Kaluga region? Something they vary quite a lot, up to similar to nomions...

24.06.2008 13:49, unicum

Exactly. Upper course of the Zhizdra River. About seven years ago...
All from a single point. 3-5 small meadows on the river bank. And mostly males differ from females.
Although even among the same sex, the variability is quite large: that's how much I gained then...
Since then, almost every year I check those meadows-no one : - (((. Just do not scoff at once-I caught them after laying eggs (they are not very fresh, slightly battered). Not on purpose - this is the time of the hike.

Yes, I also really enjoyed Mr. cajarc's training camp, but it's fair to say: especially pleased with the order in the design. I think many people will agree with me.
