Michail_M:
If it is not difficult for you, rewrite at least the labels for beetles, print them out on sheets, and stick them on the back of the boxes, you can laminate or tape the sheets so that they do not spoil over time.. This way the collection will have a much better chance of surviving wink.gif

Dear Papis, are these things purchased and assembled from you? Labelled?

03.11.2008 22:52, bugslov

Beautiful of course, but it looks like for sale. frown.gif

So after all, the person clearly said: EXHIBITION.

04.11.2008 9:54, Papis

Mostly purchased ones, but what are the complaints about them? As a rule, without biting the point and date. In the best case, the collection year and approximate area.
Here is another box from the exhibition.
Do not judge strictly, this is not seen by experts or entomologists. It is designed for them.

We had a teacher at the university. So she asked us: "Do you know how a herbarium differs from hay?" And the answer is simple-a label.

Well done!!!
Man brings the beauty of nature to the masses! After all, love for all living things comes from childhood. If a child sees such a selection at an exhibition, they will want to have something similar at home. And there, and before serious study is not far away.
I'm all for it!!!
Here, for example:
I have a small collection, but who has seen it? A small circle of friends.
I think most of us have a similar situation.

2Serega. And who will read these labels at the exhibition???
In other boxes, all butterflies are labelled. There is a lot about them and told. And this box gives a general idea of the order of butterflies. The visitor will simply be blown away if he reads the name of a butterfly in Latin.

Yes, I don't really mind. For different people, different needs. It's not very interesting for me, but it's very useful for someone.

If anyone is interested, here is another photo from the exhibition. I really like this box. On black velvet. The quality, however, is not very good.

I apologize, of course, for my remark, but you seem to be exposing insects to simple, unsophisticated people. They will naturally think that the scarabs are indeed golden. And this is a hoax. Yes, even under this name.

They watched a movie, I don't remember what it was called (I didn't see it). In my opinion, the "Mummy" and now everyone believes that scarabs are such evil creatures that get under the skin of a person and devour him from the inside.
About the piece of dress-yes, there is an interesting sample. I will post this fact in bikes smile.gif.

And to dissuade them, do you paint scarabs? smile.gif

Omar, what are you doing with this bug?
The photo shoot of this box was a year ago.
Now this scarab is no longer there. But there is another box half of which is dedicated to scarabs.

I started collecting this exhibition more than 10 years ago.
I was full of illusions, I thought I was doing a good job. In fact, where else can people living in the province see the beauty, pay attention to insects, which, as a rule, are simply not noticed in everyday life?
All the money that the exhibition brought in, I also invested in it.
Visitors, especially children, go to the exhibition with their eyes wide open and mouths agape.
I have several thick folders with reviews. this is 99% positive.
For example, 2nd grade: It's a pity that they don't give out diapers here - you can get drunk, what a beauty!!!
But there are also unpleasant bells ringing. In one city, they just stole a large box of bird-eating spiders. And one kind soul wrote: "You're a monster! The souls of beautiful people flying to God move into butterflies. You have ruined thousands of beautiful souls. May the Lord's punishment befall you." Just like that, no more, no less.
Well, at least she didn't pass by indifferently.
But my soul is vulnerable. I've been going through this for a long time. And you say scarabs are painted!

I dare to place my collection, you can say a beginner, in a topic with such numerous colo-lectures. Do not judge strictly (C). in one of the rows, everything that did not fall into any scoops. neither the moth nor the hawk moth and the dipper... Unpacking is lame so far, I know) So, (see above).

Free tip: labels (with the place and date of capture) should be pinned on the same pin on which the butterfly is sitting - otherwise they will definitely get lost someday and the specimen will cease to be of scientific interest.

And another thing: the label "Moscow" has little meaning in our time: Moscow is big, you need to write more precisely.

By the way - what is signed "Cossus cossus" is actually Acossus terebra.

I will say even more that a copy without a label is not only of scientific interest, but also such copies do not appeal at all.. And large labels next to butterflies also take up a lot of space, which makes the location of butterflies not so attractive.. But this is already aesthetic-everyone chooses tutu as they like, But most often everyone comes to the same conclusion smile.gif
In general, the spread is good!

07.11.2008 22:44, AntSkr

I would advise you not to raise the front wings so much, they will turn out too high, it is best to go a little higher than the horizontal position.

07.11.2008 22:50, Tyomochkin

For my box, the comment is really very soft smile.gif
About kosus-it seems that the truth is not him.... In a pancake, like a hundred times rechecked... And I think the labels will not be lost, because when I fully fill the box, glue the tablet on kozheedov, fix everything, etc., then seal the box tightly. although we need to think about labels of the same format. only with such a departure, to the butterfly... Tipo:

picture: __________.JPG

Just want clarity of the name, I wrote a program in which I drive all the views with the possibility of further correction and deletion, and attach a photo. So that's why I try to make the label so that when photographing it was clearly visible...

why seal the box so tightly? What if you rearrange the butterflies? Or re-arrange it?

07.11.2008 23:20, Tyomochkin

Well, that's unlikely...
One last question, sorry immediately for offtop... Does Acossus terebra have a Russian name?

Very good!!!
I especially like the way nocturnal birds look - very beautiful as they are all different shapes, sizes and colors, and arranged as if in blocks. Moths are a sight to behold! smile.gif And the satyrs are so good!

Some Moscow region scoops.
Amphipyrinae, Cuculliinae, Plusiinae, Acronictinae, Stiriinae, Hadeninae.
Not the most rare, a lot of banal, but there are a few interesting ones.
