Juglans, 01.11.2006 2:03

Harmonia axyridis (or Leis axyridis) is the most common ladybug in the Far East, with a range as far south as Taiwan. The color varies greatly. A characteristic feature of this species is a transverse fold at the top of the elytra (see the lower left photo). Now, in the south of Primorye, this cow flies indoors in search of shelter for the winter. In some years, there is so much of it that the walls of houses are covered with a carpet of these beetles.

I didn't find any good information about this cow on the Internet. There are only mentions as an aphid eater or finding it in certain areas. There is also little information available on ZINA's website. I was guided by photo images in Google and the description found on page 185 of the handbook "Useful fauna of the fruit garden "(Moscow, VO. Agropromizdat, 1989).
I met her in the Moscow region only a couple of times in a few years.

It doesn't seem to be Adalia decimpunctata. This ladybug is much more similar to Calvia decimguttata.

Necrocephalus: Maybe-very similar.

Yes, this is indeed Calvia decimguttata-a ten-point ladybug. I can share information about this type.
It is distributed in the European part of Russia, Southern Siberia, the south of the Far East, Kazakhstan, the Caucasus, the Himalayas, China, Mongolia, and Japan. It is found in the forest zone on hardwoods. It feeds on aphids and leafhoppers. The coloration of this species is quite variable. White spots can sometimes disappear partially or completely.

Alexey Sazhnev, I am tormented by vague doubts about this copy. It is completely different from H. axyridis. I might be wrong, but I'd say it's something of the Propylea family.

I love coccinellides. It would be necessary to collect a complete collection of photos of cows, but so far, unfortunately, there is only this:

Ithone mirabilis, aka Ailocaria hexaspilota

PS
It would be nice to rename the theme to Coccinellidae without reference to a specific species.

Into the light. I find it difficult to determine, perhaps the black form of Adalia bipunctata, because for A. koltzei, the red spots are located too low.

Triplaxxx, I determined by the two-shny determinant, there is no such type. Can you provide a link to information on Coccinula sinensis in the Far East?

13.09.2012 23:27, Triplaxxx

Previously, this species was considered a subspecies of C. quatuordecimpustulata. It is quite easy to distinguish from it by smaller spots on the nadkr., the spot on the disk in the second transverse row is narrow and with a notch along the anterior edge. I have copies from Primorye and 1 copy. even from Buryatia. The species is distributed in Mongolia, Japan and very widely in China. And C. quatuordecimpustulata does not seem to occur in the Far East.

What's the latest catalog's thu? Can you give me a link?

Otherwise, it is listed on most taxonomy sites (including European lists, Wikipedia, Wikicommons, etc.) under the name Hippodamia notata Laicharting, 1781

http://www.biolib.cz/en/taxon/id10833/

Here, for example, is the Scandinavian list:

http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/bio/life/i...amia/index.html

And only the Norwegian Wikipedia writes Ceratomegilla notata.
