Do you have any data on the occurrence of this species in the Tula region?

I haven't found it in natural conditions yet. All my captures were on the light DRL (10 copies). It is found in forest-steppe areas. In the instructions for the Tula region, it is quite rare and local.

And what are the obvious differences between Calosoma (Caminara) denticolle Gebl., 1833 [/b]
and C. investigator ?

And what are the obvious differences between Calosoma (Caminara) denticolle Gebl., 1833 [/b]
and C. investigator ?

The ventral part of Calosoma denticolle is narrower, more elongated (the ratio of length to width is different), the edges are more parallel. The sculpture of elytra is more coarsely grained. Males, unlike C. investigator, do not have extended segments on their forelegs.

I will add that Calosoma denticolle has more strongly elongated and pointed posterior corners prsp.

Then how do you distinguish a male from a female?

Then how do you distinguish a male from a female?

At the top of the abdomen-rounded in males, more elongated in females - a stable sign. I will add that with the same size of the male and female, the segments of the front legs in males are visually more thickened. smile.gif

Dear friends, tell us, is Calosoma (Charmosta) investigator rare for the Tyumen region? (for the region in general, it doesn't seem to be).
