Catocala (Noctuidae)

Several order ribbons from the south of the Urals.
Including a couple of rarities, especially for Vlad, who is on the list (http://kotbegemot.livejournal.com/152872.html) There are no references to illustrations of these particular (C. detrita & C. orientalis) Eastern European species.
By the way, both of these rarities are surprisingly reluctant to show their charms, in the sense of rear wings... The other species shown are just doing that at nightsmile.gif
If anyone has other (Eastern European) species, especially in nature-it will be very interesting!

PG, this is great!
I'll "pofftoplyu" a little-I'll add ribbon girls from Primorye (of course, not eastern Europe).
Very common, Catocala agitatrix (yellow) and Catocala dissimilis

You can rename the theme to just "Catocala". After all, we have Sergeich, Dinusik, and Juglans. They can also post a lot of awesome stuff.
In general, Catocala is the object of my adoration.

Dissimilis capture feelings: "Red, yellow, or blue? №**№#*!"
And in Meshchera, in the Kurovsky district, which katokals fly? Except for pacta.

Try the bait.
These comrades come to her well, even better than to the light.
In Meshchera, you can probably catch C. adultera, not to mention others.
Well, C. nupta, fraxini and fulminea should be for sure.

Is C. pacta so common here? confused.gif

31.08.2007 23:54, Pavel Morozov

Yes, that surprised me too.
Ilya, if you know where there are a lot of them, we would catch a good series to exchange. We would not have been left in debt.

Previously, C. pacta was caught in large numbers on the Moscow Canal.

Mostly they sat on trunks at a height of up to 2 m from the side opposite the sun. When startled, it flies either to the other side of the trunk and above, or to a neighboring tree, but strictly (!) to an oak (how does it distinguish them from pines, for example, in flight?). Apparently, it doesn't fly out of the oak grove, at least, it never flew to the lamp at night.

On the border of the Belgorod and Voronezh regions, I saw about 100 copies of them in an oak forest. on 1 Ha sitting on the trunks of oak trees. At night, not a SINGLE one flew to the stab DRL-250 on the forest road 5 meters from this place! But in the mass flew Catocala nupta, of which only a dozen saw during the day.
Who did Catocala sponsa come from?

01.09.2007 13:42, Ilia Ustiantcev

No, I haven't seen the pacta, but this is the only ribbon road that is there according to the Red Data Book (73 km). I didn't see any non-red books, or even any other ones, not even Nupta!!!

01.09.2007 14:08, Pavel Morozov

sponsa for bait-definitely.
pacta lives mainly on the banks of rivers, so it makes sense to look at the Burrow.

Yes, everything is in the light. In the Aksenovo district there are still some peatlands! There's a lot going on there.
