Well, vooooot, declassified wink.gif

In general, I collect material and slowly work on this topic (if no one gets ahead of me).
And the fact that I miss seminars , then-employment
Oleg Grigoryich, work, after all, such a contagion. I'm usually very busy on Wednesdays. I'll try to change my schedule, and I'll probably attend meetings as well. shuffle.gif

The genus Spatalia Hübner, 1819 (Pygaerinae) contains 7 known species distributed in Eurasia. Most of the species are found in China. Medium-sized tufts, characterized by a silvery spot or group of spots on the forewings. Adults usually fly in two generations.

Next – all seven of them.
Please do not split your collections.

Spatalia argentina (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775)
On the left is a male from the Voronezh Region, leg lepidopterolog
On the right is a male from Turkey, leg KDG
is the only representative of the genus in Europe. It is found in Turkey and the Middle East, but is absent in Britain and Scandinavia. We have – in the south of the European part.
The imago flies in two generations, the caterpillar on an oak tree.

Currently, A. Schintlmeister also assigned crested Allata to this genus, which is widely distributed in South and Southeast Asia. Unlike Spatalia, Allata has a more pronounced sexual dimorphism.

Genus Neodrymonia Matsumura, 1920 (Notodontinae) includes about 20 species distributed in Asia. most of the species are known from Southeastern China. They have not yet been registered on the territory of the Russian Federation, although N. coreana is found throughout the Korean Peninsula and in Manchuria. The butterflies are mostly modestly colored, like the two species listed below:

Neodrymonia comes Schintlmeister, 1989 (SE China, leg. V. Sinyaev), distributed in the southern half of China, Taiwan, Hainan, and northern Indochina Peninsula
, and Neodrymonia albinobasis Schintlmeister, 2008 (SE China, leg. V. Sinyaev), known from SE China and Indochina.

Despite the beginning of summer, I will demonstrate typical autumn tufts.

Genus Ptilophora Stephens, 1828 (Ptilodoninae)
the genus contains approximately 7 species distributed mainly in East Asia.
Males of all species are characterized by strongly feathered antennae, while females have filamentous antennae. Coloration is usually red, ochre, and morphs are frequent.
However, according to barko, one specimen of P. plumigera was collected in Hungary in May (see our topic above). They prefer temperate latitudes, and settle in the mountains in the south.
Forage plant of caterpillars - different types of maples. They overwinter at the egg stage.
Marked sexual dimorphism is characteristic.
There are 3 species in the fauna of the Russian Federation.
I took the info from Schintlmeister'08

The most famous representative:
Ptilophora plumigera (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775)
Specimens from Moscow (TLCA Park) and the Moscow region (Chigasovo, Odintsovo district and Marinka 3, Stupinsky district-late September-October)
leg. Antskr & Morozzz
The species is distributed throughout Europe with the exception of the Iberian Peninsula and the Far North, in the Middle zone of the European part of the Russian Federation, in the Caucasus and Transcaucasia, and reaches the Lower Volga in the east. East is not yet known, although maybe someone from the forum, maybe, will prove the opposite.
In Moscow, for example, it began to register relatively recently, starting in 2008 (Zhuk & lepidopterolog). Caterpillar on a maple tree, in the conditions of the middle zone, the butterfly appears after frosts towards the end of September and flies until the onset of severe cold weather. In Europe, it flies until February. In the Alps it rises up to 1500m, in Turkey up to 2000m above sea level (Schintlmeister, 2008).
The color of both males and females is very variable - from beige to almost black.
