I've been following this artist for a long time. It has a lot of topics, but this one seems to be close to many. Link here:

http://alexandreev.livejournal.com/tag/metronomicon

allusions, of course, Tuda, to the book of Al-Khazred wink.gif

I wonder what you can call this genre?..

Unusual works... The genre is really difficult to name, something from psychedelic.
I can't say that I didn't like the works, and it's hard to say that I liked them either. But the author's flight of fancy is certainly gorgeous.

I liked it, it's an interesting idea. Torches are especially good instead of lamps.

There is something so attractive about them, although the exploitation of "scary and terrible insects", especially in the cinema, is not a new thing.
Ambiguous. On the other hand, are unambiguous works really interesting?

Yeah, and there's also "suck it up".
Well, here's another, quite entomological one:

Cool! Especially walking with a caterpillarsmile.gif, I would also take such a walk!

I saw this funny thing in the window of a store. I really don't know if this can be considered an image of insects, but there is something that reminds me of it

Dina, this is great!
The only remark is that the legs should be re-straightened, otherwise it seems that the hind legs are very short, and the middle ones are very long smile.gif

I agree smile.gifit really doesn't look very good. I didn't think much of it at first.

Sculptures by Christopher Conte:
picture: 1.jpg
picture: article_image_image_article.jpg
Christopher Conte's main job is making prosthetics, but in his spare time he likes to make all sorts of things, using his professional knowledge and various details of old mechanisms. For example, to make a beetle, he used old compasses and sewing machine parts.

Yes, it's amazing! I immediately remembered the story about S. I. Medvedev, which I once heard in Kharkiv. I may have forgotten something about the details, but the point is that Sergey Ivanovich once made a total b / w drawing of a dung beetle for the first description and sent an article to some zoological journal (I think it was Georgian). And after a while I got a reply that they say, it's better to see the rules for the design of articles - we don't print photos! smile.gif

Especially plavunets, ground beetles, purpuricenus...

I. solod, impressive... And Alexey Solodovnikov (also a great artist) is not a relative?

If you will excuse me - I just like to process photos with various filters in PS - I will present to your attention this work of mine, so to speak. shuffle.gif
In short, it was a scan of a horsefly caught in the summer. I edited the position of the abdomen and wings, and put a lot of makeup on the little things...
