Wow! and what kind of technique is this?
Very similar to the print of a drawing made on glass, aquography seems to be called.

05.06.2008 5:14, Timandr

Dinusik, yes, almost true: the technique of monotype (paint on glass, print on paper), with easy refinement with a brush. There are quite a lot of interesting things (for landscapes, etc., somewhere on the verge of mysticism according to the results :-)
And one more thing: I did not forget about you in any way, I found the promised file, and tomorrow I will send it with a normal response (it was Timandr).

Here's another West African bronze-a little "fancy", of course.

Cool animals. Art, damn.

13.02.2009 11:42, Grigory Grigoryev

Great!
Judging by the photo, the size is not small. What kind of material do you use ?

13.02.2009 13:04, RippeR

judging by the nickname from ceramics smile.gif

Thank you for your feedback! smile.gif Indeed, the insects are made of clay. The main parts I unscrew on a potter's wheel, then manually doleplivayu. When the products dry out a little (ceramists say they dry out), I treat their surface with a metal object (spoonsmile.gif) or a smooth pebble so that they get a matte shine. Firing at 1000-1100 degrees. I decorate mainly in the long-known, ancient ways-smoking and milkweed: after such processing, the product takes on from dark brown to black colors-it all depends on the nuances. The average product size in length is 35-50 cm. Now I'm making a fly and a dragonfly, as soon as they are ready - I'll post pictures. I really like sculpting insects: they remind me of some structurally complex, intricate mechanisms that never cease to amaze. Good luck to all! Draw and sculpt insects! smile.gif

To be honest, I thought that the West African bronze plate was made of metal. Great!

A few years ago, the Hermitage hosted an exhibition dedicated to the culture of pre-Columbian civilizations in America. Among other things, there was a phenomenal vessel in the form of a certain Caelifera. That's right, because the diagnostic signs were perfectly worked out. Unfortunately, there is no photo, I don't even remember if it was possible to take pictures.

I apologize for being a little off topic.
Old forumchane, I think, remember the artist Lyubarsky, who illustrated the beloved magazine "Chemistry and Life". Recently, I was surprised to learn that a set of postcards with illustrations for Jules Verne, which I absolutely adored as a child, was also illustrated by him! So much for "Mysterious Island"

Many of the views are quite realistic and recognizable. Moreover, I now remembered that they reminded me of the images in the book "The Little Butterfly Collector", published as early as 1860. The style is very similar, look for interest, if possible.

In the magazine "Around the World" for November 2002, I met the works of the Japanese artist Takamufi Tanimura:picture: kotue.jpg
