Here, too, a question and a question. smile.gif
Since the beginning of the question, the first male of Episemia glaucina, with such a small round spot has never been seen. but nothing else works.
The taxon Polymixis latesco for Europe is rather controversial, and they return to the old Polymixis trisignata. If you cook in large batches, females get Polymixis trisignata, and males do not go both ways. The Blue catalog contains only Polymixis trisignata for region 13.
And another suggestion, Peter, if the definition of species has changed after the review on the site, it is highly desirable to display these changes in your post. And then people look at the post and see the wrong types, you changed the labels in your collection, but here they are not correctly defined.
This is easily done by clicking on the button in the upper-right corner, "edit".
smile.gif

I fully agree with you about the controversial nature of the Polymixis latesco taxon. The name of the scooper Polymixis latesco is given in the "Annotated catalog of scoops of the Caucasus" by A. N. Poltavsky, A. Yu. Matov et al. (2010). The authors of the catalog in the butterfly species description consider the name Polymixis trisignata incorrect for the region (p. 114). And Sviridov A.V. in 2005 defined this scoop in my collections at all as Mniotype leuconota (H.-S.).
I would like to purchase a book from the new edition of S. Y. Sinev's Catalog of Lepidoptera (2019). This issue is currently being resolved. If I can get it, I'll see what's out there.
Based on the situation described, I will not rush to change the name of scoops in my collections yet.
I fully accept your comment on correcting the corrected names in the post. I missed this moment. I'll try to fix it soon.

Hm. Here in this article:

it is listed as Polymixis trisignata.

If anyone needs it, I divided the file into two: cut the tables and rotated them.
Personally, it's more convenient for me-maybe someone else...

I tried to download the catalog with the tables rotated normally from the site you suggested on 13.01.20. Unfortunately, it doesn't work.

Alexander Nikolaevich gave me the catalog of the North Caucasus, but it's been 10 years. smile.gif In the Sineva 2019 catalog, there are definitely more of them for 13 regions.
Another species of Brachylomia is listed for the Southern Urals and eastern Ukraine. There is some chance that you might have one, too. smile.gif

A. N. Poltavsky sent a reply on Brachylomia Sev. Caucasus and southern Russia. I present a copy of the response: "Hello, Pyotr Nikolaevich!
In the sent photos of Brachionicha viminalis.
Another species that lives in the south of Russia is Brachionicha
uralensis. But it doesn't look like that and I have it in my collection,
collected in the Rostov region. This species lives
the Urals and the Volga region, and has also been found in Ukraine.
Like many other questionable and variable
samples, it is easy to check on the male's genitals."
[I]
Him I also " dropped another photo ". It turns out that in my picture Brachionicha viminalis.
Ps: Since yesterday, for some reason, photos have stopped being attached to the forum site. Only text passes through. Is it OK for you to attach a photo?

Sorry, Vlad! You're right. 26. Polymixis trisignata (Menetrids, 1847) (leuconota auct., nec Herrich-Schaffer, 1850)). Praskoveya,09 and 10.2002, K. Y. Lothiev, 2 copies.
In 2004-2005, the scoops from my collection were kept by him at Moscow State University for identification, where Sviridov personally compiled specific labels for them. At the moment, I was guided by the label stored on the collector's copy, where the specific name of the scoop is Mniotype leuconota. I wanted to drop a photo of this scoop with the label A.V. Sviridov on the post, but for some reason I stopped attaching photos, only the text passes.

Good evening forumchane! I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the participants of Djon and svm2 for tips on correcting incorrectly defined types of xylenines. I made corrections to the text parts of the post with the introduction of named names, in the corrected view names. The photo was more problematic. After deleting them, you can't attach new ones with corrected view captions yet. I may have exceeded the placement volume limit. I asked the moderator for an explanation. No response yet.
I reviewed the downloaded electronic version of the 2nd edition of the Catalog of Lepidoptera of Russia by S. Yu. Sinev. Taxonomists, as always, have worked hard to change many species names. We will also have to make a lot of adjustments in our own collection. frown.gif
By the way, in my last year's collections, the lepidopter of the Stavropol Territory seems to have captured a new type of scoop for Russia - Armada clio-2 copies. It's not in the catalog. At the same time, one of the specimens, dark, looks suspiciously similar to Armada barrygoateri. Sorry, lost the opportunity to display their photos.

Armada clio, if this is it, then it will be a new look for Europe, if you bought it in the European part of the region. smile.gif Armada barrygoateri, just described from you, maybe both copies. this type includes:
As for not uploading photos, this is a disease of the site, it has a certain volume, some participants load photos from their phones in tens of megabytes in posts and quickly clog up the useful volume, and you have to wait until the next cleaning by the moderator. The only way out for this period is to upload photos to another resource, and put a link or thumbnail here.

Unfortunately, there is no clearly defined border between Europe and Asia in the North Caucasus region. Some geographers draw it along the Main Caucasian Ridge, others-along the Manych depression. In our eastern Stavropol region, the Europe-Asia stele is installed in the city of Neftekumsk a little south of the Kuma River, so to speak-the golden mean between the two extremes. Find Armada-a little north of Kuma, so in Europe. wink.gif

While browsing through my xylenas, I suddenly noticed that one of the supposed Xylena vetusta is noticeably different from the others. It quickly became clear that this species was most recently (in 2011) described from the Altai by A. Volynkin — Xylena czernalai. In my photo, this instance is the top one. The types are quite similar, but there are enough differences. In Khakassia and in the South of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, this species has not been caught before, so this is the first find.
As suggested by Volynkin, this butterfly, caught by him in the fall, should fly after wintering in April-May. This is confirmed by my discovery made on 11.05.2018 Khakassia, Bogradsky district, surrounding area of the village of Bograd, forest-steppe..

In my opinion, this view has not yet been posted here. However, I was too lazy to view everything..
