Vitalbata, your findings are very interesting to me. Thank you very much! Can you specify in more detail where, when and in what biotopes these species were caught? I have long wanted to catch Oligia versicolor and O. fasciuncula in Belarus.

For EvgenD and barko. Oligia fasciuncula is rare in Lithuania, caught only occasionally throughout the country. Years from June to July, the peak of summer is somewhere at the end of June. Biotope - different dry fields. Oligia versicolor was found in Lithuania only twice (as far as I know). My eg instance was found in early July in a mixed wet forest. Carefully check all the scoops of Oligia that have flown into the world, among which O. versicolor may be hiding.

I dissect almost all the Oligia, but so far only O. strigilis and O. latruncula.

the left column is Amphipoea lucens (FREYER, 1845), both males; the right column is Amphipoea oculea (LINNAEUS, 1761). Caught at one point in one night on 28.07.2012-Belarus, Brest region, Pinsk district. Biotope in the next photo: a small dry meadow overgrown with pine trees, in front - a low-lying swamp.

Left column is O. strigilis (both males, Belarus, Vitebsk region, 21.06.2005 and 10.06.2005, respectively), middle column is O. latruncula (male, female, male, Belarus, Vitebsk region, 21.06.2005, 23.06.2005, 01.07.2006), right column is O. pseudodubia (female, Adygea, 57 km south of Maikop, Azish-Tau ridge, 11.08.2007, h=1500 m)

Eugene, why such large "plates" for storing genitals under scoops? As the best alternative, you can take the smallest cocktail straws, cut them to the right length, solder one end, a drop or two of glycerin, and stick your genitals in. Voila!!!:)

This is an old technology. Now I keep all the drugs almost exactly like this, only I don't take straws, but a tube from a dropper. It is more convenient because it is transparent. In my previous post, Amphipoea lucens shows such sealed tubes. I agree, this is much more convenient than taping up the holes from tablets. The main problem there is not even in their size (although this also creates inconvenience), but in the fact that glycerin almost always leaks under the tape, it comes off, and the pin rusts quickly. Only for large species you need something different, such preparations do not fit into the tubes.

Radio markets have transparent cambriks of different diameters, the walls are thinner than capillary tubes. I've been using them for the last few years.

Super! It is not clear why Anton wrote the name of the species through "cz", the surname of our Slovenian comrade Černila.

Probably because there is no "Č" symbol in Latin. transliteration of a kind...

18.11.2012 21:33, Сергей71

Transmitting "Č" using tch, IMHO, would be nicer. As in the name Neptis tshetverikovi, for example.

Corrected the genus name.
I think it is unlikely that this is Griposia pinkeri. Most likely, it is just a dark female Griposia aprilina. At least, I do not know that any other species of the genus Griposia were found on the territory of Ivanovo and other adjacent regions (Moscow, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, etc.), except for Griposia aprilina.

Great find, probably the northernmost one in our region!
G. pinkeri here is, of course, unreal (I don't know, by the way, whether Poltava identified Rostov gripositis by genitals-otherwise there are mottled aprilins).
