Caradrina montana Bremer,1864

Oh, those Karadrins, you have to be careful with them. Analyzing this one for the EMN report, which was identified as Selini odim of the leading experts, but the definition was doubtful(thanks to Barko for supporting our doubts), and after Kostyuk also cooked it, it turned out not even paradrina, but platyperigeya.
picture: IMG_3520.jpg

But this one was identified as petreya, but after the mentioned case, this one was also brewed, the opposite picture is here, so in Ukraine petreya has not yet been found
Caradrina(Paradrina) wullschlegeli Pungeler,1903
picture: IMG_3633.jpg
picture: IMG_3639.jpg

by the way, the subspecies that is common in Ukraine (w. schwingenschussi) in the Hacker revision is reduced to a nominative.
In Karadrinus, genitalia are very similar in many species, here is a phrase from the revision for the Wulschlegeli group.

Caradrina (Platyperigea) montana (Bremer, 1864) Kyrgyzstan

All montanas have distinctive white hindwings, while the selini has darkened ones. This will distinguish them well. At least this feature is sufficient to draw a preliminary conclusion.

There are 4 species of them in our region, they differ with a bang in their genitals - and it's irresponsible to say anything without them.

it looks more like lucens from the drawing, but without the genitals, you can't tell for sure. there's also a female here...

Uyy.. I'll put the question here for now. Suffer without me (I won't be here for a day). Can delete (generally female, apparently)?

13.08.2011 6:19, vasiliy-feoktistov

Delete it? While as a female A. lucens left. Okay, I'm off to work.

And the Hacker almost immediately (before the Witt catalog) wrote that the selection of Abromias from Apamea is bullshit on vegetable oil ahem., a hasty step taken without analyzing the group as a whole!

I'll tell you more without a hacker ... I won't say anything, I'll just draw your attention to the fact that one of the authors of ne8 already refers everyone to apomea in the Eurasian atlas, and people like this author do not change their opinion for several years. another thing is that circumstances sometimes prevail.

By the way, "he doesn't change his mind in a few years" is an anti-advertisement for any researcher, you shouldn't do that.

It is almost impossible to make an anti-advertisement for this person. When I wrote this phrase, I meant only the specific situation with Apamea. Laszlo is certainly able to change his mind depending on the results of his own and other people's research, otherwise he was not who he is.

This is an ex. out of 2 males first discovered in the Kiev region. At first, I defined it incorrectly as a monoglyph, but after the release of Tom Vita, I clarified the definition. It starts flying about 1-2 weeks earlier and is smaller in size. Below for comparison with the monoglyph
