Since last year, I have been puzzled by one entomological riddle... I have seen mountain ground beetles living under rocks on the banks of a cold mountain stream near Mount Rainier, Washington... By the way, here is the mountain itself

Question to the public : does anyone recognize the animals ? My guess is nebria are like that...

I
don't know, but I can't tell you the American ones for sure.

Habitually like nebria.

In the way of life nebriyas, outwardly also nebriyas. And, it seems, 2 types.
The places are just wonderful! And what is the height?

Rather, 3 species, according to the lower photo (sexual dimorphism in the group, as far as I know, is not so pronounced).

Maeby.. it is difficult to say anything here, especially without knowing the fauna

Yes, I'm also leaning towards 3 types. I must say that the larger one, the metallic blue one, never came across again.

The height in this place was 915 m, and the mountain itself to the top - 4,392. The place around is not just wonderful, but simply breathtaking. That's what it's called - Paradise. The beauty of the Alpine meadows is such that you can not believe in the reality of what you saw. And the rich smell of flowers is just honey in the air. You climb up a mountain like that, you see meadows and other peaks below, and you scream with happiness. It is simply impossible to resistsmile.gif, and if there is a paradise somewhere, then it looks exactly like this...

A couple of nebryas were still caught at an altitude of 1645 and 2200 m, right at the edge of the melting snow with a cold stream. But they were just black, just plain-looking smile.gif

And here's another one. Elephant Diaprepes glaucus

Favorite of Brentus sp, maybe even earlier and Arrhenodes sp

Rhino Strategus aloeus

Absolutely gorgeous assassin bug-Arilus cristatus.

Alien life form smile.gifCorydalus cornutus. I didn't give him a finger, so I don't know what I can do...

Cicada killer - Sphecius speciosus. A wasp the size of a hornet, many in the south, searching for an hour, looking in every hole. The cicada catches incomparably and is able to drag a large carcass by itself.

Shikaaaarno!

nebria, which are bigger and nondescript, will probably be more interesting smile.gif

But I still wonder how this korydalus bites ) But apparently it should be weak )

Oh, I don't have the patience to put pluses and flowers. Great! For khokhlatochek special thanks!

Yes, that's fine. It's just a pity that there aren't enough sawyers. But "A fairly common type of barbel from the south..."- this is something from Eburiini, rather even the genus Eburia.Unfortunately, I can't tell you more precisely from the photo.
