And I shot them on June 18 in the Voronezh region (Shipov Forest)

It's not surprising there. This is a steppe man, who feeds on bruise. Here is the fact that she got out in the north of Meshchera - it's interesting!

02.09.2012 8:59, Dr. Niko

I decided to share photos with the ubiquitous P. interpunctella smile.gif
The fact is that in my kitchen in the closet there was a massive release of these pests that developed on old pumpkin seeds. Pupae were also found in other places near the bag of seeds. As you can see, within 1-2 days after the release of the adult, they begin to mate, and the demand exceeds the supply. I understand that the female leaves behind a sort of chemical trail that the male is following. But when he approached the copulating pair on it, the pair, blushing, moved away from him by several centimeters, after which the attempts were repeated.
Well, then all the heroes of this amazing story (and I must say that there were many, many more of them than in the photo) went on an unforgettable journey through the hitherto unknown vacuum cleaner hose. wink.gif

  Pyrausta obfuscata (Scopoli, 1763)
July 20, 2012. Crimea, Feodosia, Dvuyakornaya valley. Photos in nature.

Not aurata?

02.02.2013 1:36, okoem

No, it doesn't look like Aurata. It's so dark, and the sling on the rear fenders is kind of narrow. Yes, and the biotope in my opinion is not the same. Aurat met him near the water, and this one on a dry, rocky slope.

P. aurata is actually very variable. Where it is warmer-there it is redder and lighter, wintering individuals are completely dark. The specimen in the photo I would not hesitate to refer to aurata -- but I am not familiar with the type obfuscata.

Well, it was taken just where it is warmer. And the individual is not wintering.
In my opinion, one person http://www.lepiforum.de/cgi-bin/lepiwiki.p...austa_Obfuscata
In addition, in that biotope, elecampane is quite common, but there is no mint in the immediate vicinity (hundreds of meters away, at least).

On September 8, 2012, near a salt marsh on the outskirts of the village of Mysovoye, a mass of caterpillars unknown to me was discovered, living in silk tubes on sagebrush shoots.
The caterpillars that have finished feeding build long silk cocoons in the soil, in which they estivate for a while, and then pupate.
Loxostege clathralis (Hubner, 1813) emerged from pupae in October.

On June 26, 2007, a single specimen of Mecyna trinalis (Denis & Schiffermuller, 1775) was accidentally discovered on the northern slope of the Chatyr-Dag massif in the upper part of the Tokmak-Kaya spur on a steep open rocky slope.
Five years have passed. Since then, I have never seen this species again.
On July 8, 2012, I visited the same locale again. I decided to check for butterflies, carefully walked along the slope - and here they are, flying! jump.gif
