I'll add it on my own:

I expected acrometope to sing, but the last molt has passed, and she is still silent. Strange...How then do they attract males?

11.06.2012 21:38, Dracus

I heard females only in the presence of males, but the latter and singly-I think it is still attracted to the male, the female only responds.

13.06.2012 15:37, taler

And I was interested in a pigeon on a flower.Otomanus, judging by the hem.Place tell me where and when it was shot.Thank you in advance

13.06.2012 17:17, alex017

I took a photo of a pigeon in Turkey, Alanya, the village of Mahmutlar, on May 14, 2012 at 16.30, I went a little beyond the village into the mountains. I saw these butterflies there and in other places, but I couldn't take a picture because of their mobility and my clumsiness.

Maybe someone will need the" design " of the cage cover. You can make an insect cage in 5 minutes from a 10 or 5l water bottle. In such a cage, you can keep both at home and when traveling. It weighs nothing and is compact. Fastenings - in the form of a curved corner from a children's designer, but any metal that you can bend will also work. You need to take bolts and nuts with you to attach a corner to the jar and something sharp to pierce it.

I made a terrarium for tettigonium. With illumination.

But this creature refuses to eat while sitting in a jar. What to do with it....

And what do you give? In my experience, there are 2 universal feeds: carrot and banana. But these are relatively tropical animals, and there are practically no specialists among them.

It is a Pheropterinae, must be a phytophagus. On the other hand, there may be many reasons that the insect does not feed and the lack of suitable food is not the most likely.

He gave medlars, apricots, cucumbers, tomatoes and fresh vegetation that spikelets outside the window (clover, peas, raspberries, sweet clover). I didn't give you a banana or carrot. They don't seem to be at home... Yesterday, as I transplanted it to a bush, I left it there for the night, and in the morning I found it already on another bush. I didn't plant it anywhere.
Maybe she just doesn't want to eat in the bank. Yes, and it also has a problem with the fact that it does not descend to the ground (bottom). i.e., the food offered remains untouched and rots. From the hands of boiled buckwheat did not. Landed on the "freedom" began to eat, in several passes.
It is extremely slow and doesn't move much.....

Tettigoniyam also gave buckwheat yesterday. The female immediately attacked, the male didn't seem to fit. They didn't drink water.

I hung pieces of food (the same banana, carrot) to the top cover of the cage.

Some herbivorous grasshoppers are characterized by a lifestyle similar to that of stick insects - the insect is sedentary during the day, mainly relying on stealth. They feed at night. M. B. and your behavior is like this?

14.06.2012 19:02, alex017

Grasshopper for the night (and for today) it didn't move from its place, i.e. in fact, the acrometope is in the same position for 24 hours.
To keep it in a limited space with such "fantastic" mobility, I do not see the point.

And I would hang tettigonias, maybe I will also hang them, but after opening the cage, they have to be collected around the room.
They are active at night. They sit quietly during the day.

31.08.2012 17:33, alex017

I will sum up a small summary of insecticide construction:
a couple of lamps for such an area is not enough! The grass brought from the street does not want to grow, I brought it a couple of times cut out of the ground with intact roots - it still disappears. Planted grows only a little better, a pathetic sight.
I will look for lamps like FHO (now FHE-saving are).

Local and Turkish tettigonia can't be photographed together ((((

21.09.2012 21:13, alex017

A female tettigonia died today! So sorry! I did masonry until my last breath.

what about transportation? there were no problems at the airport?

17.04.2013 4:52, alex017

It wasn't! Moreover, I even became impudent in the car and carried sea urchins in a 250ml jar with water in a badger (in vain, I had to carry them without water).

You didn't check in your luggage??? Well, the Turks have completely relaxed. There is an ironclad rule - everything that can be found fault with, check in the luggage. Carry-on baggage is usually checked quite carefully.

17.04.2013 11:31, alex017

Well, I passed three hedgehogs, the three smallest ones in a jar and in a badger. It was a little sissy. The purse was rolled twice through the scanner, but they gave it to me.
However. the act is really stupid, because it was the hedgehogs in the luggage that survived, and in the jar they apparently got poisoned by their own secretions.

17.04.2013 11:34, alex017

And so in the luggage I took out large anemones (4 or 5 pcs), large snails about 50 pcs, small ones about 50 pcs, hermits small and large ones about 50 pcs together.

Great! But the Europeans take security issues more seriously - in Madrid, they took away my small entomological tweezers.

17.04.2013 21:01, alex017

When I got home, I found a 12 mm fountain drill bit in the pocket of my jeans. Before leaving for Turkey, I just forgot to return it. A bunch of checks..... I even broke out in a sweat!!

There are no words. I also forgot the tweezers in my pocket. By the way, the Peruvians also missed it! We flew from Lima to Madrid to Saint Petersburg.

Yeah, freaks. It would be forbidden to fly to people with an Arab / Caucasian appearance, to people in a state of intoxication, and to carry alcohol in any quantity. The order would have been bigger for sure.

18.04.2013 11:10, Zlopastnyi Brandashmyg

Yeah - straight kick - ass as seriously.
In Helsinki, a jar of honey from dutik, a type of liquid of prohibited volume and unknown origin, was selected.
At the same time, they did not pay attention to the folding knife in their pocket - a ceramic one, true, but an absolutely normal knife.
Freaks.
Tellingly, the honey was purchased while waiting for a connecting FinnAir flight.
There is a feeling that slowly not that the wedge on flight safety is going beyond reasonable limits - but simply that the restrictions are becoming so comprehensive that they simply cannot be observed at the proper level - physically. IMPSEC throws itself at all sorts of bullshit, skipping really dangerous things.

And in which country were you waiting for a connecting flight? Everything purchased outside the European Union, even in "duty" and appropriately sealed, is selected. The ceramic knife was obviously not caught by the scanner, and the "handles" did not touch you. This is really sad, because it is dangerous.

Well, not always selected. Two weeks ago in Paris, when transferring from Canada, they did not select a bottle of wine from dutik Montreal, looked at where the package came from and waved their hand...

that is, a syringe, ammonia, a net, etc. if you put it in the trunk, there will be no questions?

So this is Canada... I didn't put it right, I should have said: they take away what they bought in third-world dti-fries.

This should be borne in mind, since very often when traveling to exotic places, skirmishes occur on the territory of the European Union.

comrades! Here's what I found on the Internet:
"Biologists planning a trip to Turkey

Information from Alexander Stekolnikov (trombicula)

According to confidential information received from an employee of a Turkish university, Turkey has introduced new and very strict rules regarding the collection and export of any "animals, insects and plants". Export of any biological components abroad is prohibited. To conduct field research and collecting trips, you must obtain a permit from Ankara; this requires that an international project involving a Turkish institute has been completed. If this condition is met, a permit can be obtained, but the export of biological components from Turkey is still not allowed: the study must be conducted on the territory of Turkey and the collections must remain there. "Last summer, a foreign entomologist was arrested in Gyumushan and paid a $ 15,000 fine." Turkish scientists must also get permission to collect material: according to the confidential source, he and three other professors of the same university were not able to get such permission for the current year."

what is it that I was dumb, now do not catch anything ?
where can I find out more? I don't want to go to jail frown.gif

The basic principle is to mow under the usual moronic Russian tourist! Do not focus on fishing on the principle:
- what are you doing here?
- Cho blind stole, we drink beer.
Well, limit your greed a little. Pack what you've caught in a paper juice bag, pack it tight, and fuck who gets what you've got.

Of course, if you are going to take a car and travel around the country, then in this case you can "get in". The resort area is safe.
I went there specifically in front of the migration police every day and they never checked my documents))

dy I will not travel around the country, I am afraid to transport across the border

01.05.2013 21:11, alex017

Well, I described to you what and how I drove. At the same time, I had a carry-on bag of about 10 kg of fruit, and between them a bunch of greens for rooting, I even brought grass for grub to the blacksmiths there!

01.05.2013 21:14, Коллекционер

well, this article says about the new law, from this spring

02.05.2013 19:23, alex017

And what will the fruits select? That way they'll scare everyone away. And in the fruit, you can cram greens on cuttings. What will be distinguished?
You understand, in their concept, a collection is something in a box with inscriptions, and not a tightly packed xs that. You will definitely be straightening it out at home. But no one forbade sitting in nature at night. In what quantities are you going to export that?! There is almost nothing to catch in the resort area!

By the way, you can't take corals out of igiped! But what just do not take out!! Only you need to know the ways...which I spent some time identifying...and found. Although I'm not going to go to Egypt because of the nasty Arabs, but the methods will still come in handy!

and suddenly something will come across) I'm often lucky)
so you're talking about taking out fruit?

03.05.2013 16:54, alex017

Well, even if I got something, then you will get it! Moreover, I didn't even try to catch the light.
Take out in a suitcase tightly packed! This is more reliable. Plus a paper juice box. Cover it with appliances. Well, I had something to put around.

I did fly, I'll tell you more soon

15.05.2013 18:18, Коллекционер

Here is my modest catch, since I didn't catch anything there, but just looked at my feet when I was walking. Well, once I met milkweed caterpillars br. and could not pass by. But then it came to me that it would be problematic to transport them, I kept them there in the refrigerator so that they would not pupate by chance. Just before leaving, the idea came up - to bring only their skins, so they take up much less space, and you can throw them in the bag, they will not attract attention.
P1010896.JPG
well, plus 3 dung trucks, which by the way were everywhere.

I took it all out in the pockets of my jeans. I entered the airport normally, but then, when I saw that they were also searching at the next control, I hurriedly began to put everything in a bag,a gold piece fell out in the confusionlol.gif, and people around did not react to this in any way. I rather threw everything in the bag, but the turn came, and the locusts remained in my pocket.. at that moment, my heart was pounding wildly.
I passed the frame, but they didn't search me. in the bag, everything went perfectly, just like that.

Pfft. I took out the live ones in boxes in my hand luggage and nothing. Because the flight is a charter flight, or whatever it is... In general, the ticket is included with the flight, and the airport is not particularly inspected due to the fact that the ticket is tourist and this is organized by the tour operator. And the number was much larger.
This is not the transportation of narcotic substances, why are they so encrypted? All the same, there are all sorts of Turks sitting there who do not rummage at all. They took away the soil from me, but they didn't look at the grasshoppers nearby at all: P
And they probably took it away because of considerations that this may be a dangerous substance so disguised :D

This year, a friend took out several dozen caterpillars of Aleksanor and Euphorbiaceae in his luggage (he fed them with local euphorbiaceae at home) and a couple of kg of beetles wink.gifwithout problem

29.09.2013 18:47, alex017

People, well, I wrote that I took out half a million animals, even if they were marine, but what difference does it make?
To this half-model of living creatures, there is still the same amount of vegetation, for example, excavated palm trees, and a large number of cuttings.
Corals, 10 kg of fruit and a bunch of cuttings were taken out of Thailand.
