Good afternoon. We built a private house and moved there. We bought new furniture.
Everything was fine until they noticed the small neighbors, first only in the kitchen, then throughout the house. They reproduce very quickly. In size, adults (the largest that we have ever seen) reach 4 mm. Small individuals 1.5-2.5.
My wife and children complained of bites before we found these "neighbors". These are isolated cases of bites. I think if these insects were blood-sucking parasites, then we would have already started freaking out...
I took a picture on my phone as best I could (in macro camera mode). We want to clear the house of them before we get to the ceiling. Please help me figure out what these insects are.

It is difficult to say 100% from such photos, but they are very similar to Tribolium castaneum. Search and check stocks of flour, cereals, bran, etc.

Yes, they are similar, but these are small (mature individuals) and their noses are not straight like those of Tribolium castaneum. And they are not where starch products (cereals) are, but in the corners, under the floor.
Climb into the cracks of the wallpaper, where there is at least a little space. A favorite place in the pores of a hardened filler is like an anthill. In a word, they are afraid of the light.

Looks like I found it myself. I'm writing this just in case someone has a similar problem.
"A frequent guest in an apartment or house is a representative of this family-a furniture grinder(Anobium punctarum). Beetles with a length of 2.7-4.5 mm are dark brown in color, do not damage wood. Adults do not feed at all, their main task is to leave offspring. These insects live exclusively indoors, in the latitudes of our country in natural conditions they do not survive. Larvae damage wooden furniture (tables, sofas, chairs, etc.), as well as wooden window frames, window sills, baseboards, and walls. They can sharpen products made of plywood and thick cardboard. At the same time, damage to building elements occurs only from the inside, and pests do not gnaw through the passages to the street."

No, these aren't furniture grinders... Take a better picture and upload it... Dozens of beetle species can be found in homes, feeding on both food supplies and wallpaper glue, accumulations of wool and hair, etc.
And write the region...

Poisoned with a very strong poison, it has a paralyzing effect on insects. All the dead have already been swept away. If they start crawling out again, God forbid, I'll try to get better pictures. I would like a camera with a macro lens. I zoomed in on what I posted earlier
with a magnifying glass (4x) and took it on my phone in macro mode (better than nothing).

The most densely populated place of insects was in the cashes of two doors. The empty cashing space was filled with liquid styrofoam. The "tree" of this cashout is from the warehouse of furniture goods import... we think that's where it all started.

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuu, it can be quite deaf here without beetles... They look a bit like black-bodied animals (which include Tribolium castaneum, called Mantispid), But who really started up???? And what was the cash withdrawal made of-wood or some kind of imitation???

I was most struck by the fact that it offers a conspiracy against bedbugs in all seriousness, as an effective means of combating it.

Please help me!!! There were small gray beetles on the wallpaper and baseboards. Barely visible , I didn't even know about their existence until I took a wet cloth, they will fall down from there. Very small, people with poor eyesight will not even see them, you have to look closely at the wallpaper to see them, run fast, try to run over, jump. They choke easily . In our house this year there was a problem with wells, because of this, there is fungus in the rooms and high humidity . What can it be ? Very squeamish , I can't stand all these animals , unfortunately, I can't take a picture, because they are very small

Hello! I'm not very good at entomology, but I decided to take my child and watch the flour eaters. We know that it must pass 4 stages egg-larva-pupa-imago. We found an object in the husk of sunflower seeds. It was as if one end was attached to the glass of the jar( Photo 1), and the other end occasionally moved. Movements were observed for almost 3 days from the moment of its detection. The size of the object is not small-about 1.5-2 mm. It turns out that it does not look like an egg - firstly, it is too large, and secondly, the eggs should not move. And then you saw the larva-photo2, 3. Please help me understand what it might be in photo 1? An egg or maybe a molt? confused.gif I apologize for the low quality of the photo. Just the size of these insects is small, it was better not to take a picture of them. My child and I really need expert explanations. Please help me!

Weevil from the genus Otiorhynchus, offhand O. brunneus. Harmless, the larvae feed on the roots of plants.

Earn money? Have you looked at the site yourself? The fact that there are almost no correctly identified insects is written complete nonsense-half the trouble. I was most struck by the fact that it offers a conspiracy against bedbugs in all seriousness, as an effective means of combating it.

Yes, the site is not serious in some places, but the methods of controlling tree beetles are described correctly. I used it myself. I have a wooden bungalow in the woods.

Please tell me what kind of insect is shown in the photo and how to get rid of it in the apartment, taking into account the fact that children live.
Initially, the focus of infection ( there was most of all ) it was covered in oatmeal,
but it spread all over the apartment - not just in the kitchen.
Treatment with dichlorvos (in the absence of children) helped.
But in some places there are still children in the apartment who are currently unable to process dichlorvos.
In addition, they got into the bread maker, and crawl out from there.
How to get out of the apartment and out of the bread maker and who is it?
In size-about 3 mm in length.
Thank you.

I think it's a Surinamese flour eater.
No need for dichlorvos, health is more expensive.

The larva is similar to Oryzaephilus surinamensis, but everything else is not clear what it looks like...

Wait for someone to come out, it's interesting.

M. B., actually someone's egg, M. B., pupa.

At the moment, a pupa has already formed. And I think that Oryzaephilus surinamensis will appear. But we are very interested, in photo 1 is this an egg or is this a molting process? Our object was attached to a jar, oval in shape, and for some reason moved with one end in amplitude. (There is a video, but it doesn't seem to be uploaded) So the question arose-what is this process? Egg stage? If so, do they move?Or is this how the molting process works? Then the shape of the object is not clear. Unless when molting they change shape, it seems that they should be in the form of a sedentary larva.
And one more small question, species-Oryzaephilus surinamensis can fly?

There is no spoiler on this forum?

Hello everyone.

Somewhere 4-5 weeks ago, on the back (near the spine, just above the waist) a single bite appeared. Very swollen, itchy. Passed in about 3-4 days.

And then a week ago, there were 4 more bites. On the left hand, between the index finger and thumb. On the right hand, between the elbow and shoulder, and again on the right hand, between the palm and the elbow from below. All swollen up. They were all scratchy, like the one on his back. but! Then I thought that a mosquito had flown in and bitten me, although the bite was generally strong and swollen noticeably. Well, a mosquito and a mosquito. The bite went away and okay.

And today there was another one, this time it is more strange. I got up in the morning as usual, and felt discomfort in the area on my left arm, near the elbow. Groping this place caused pain, as if it had been struck with poison. Moreover, there were no points, no tumors YET. Closer to lunch, it started to swell and turn red, and this area was also "hot". +The bite area was pronounced, it looked like a nettle sting, and around this area, there was still a red swollen area. In principle, it didn't itch if you didn't touch it. But it caused pain, albeit mild, but again, if you touch it. It was possible to determine the point in the center of the bite, pressing on which blood came out in minuscule quantities.

Now, the bite is red, hot, very swollen. If you push, blood will appear from two holes. A clear liquid is also released, but this is lymph.
+Bite area that is denser than the rest of the swollen area. It doesn't itch at all, oh yes, even in the evening I smeared the bite site with iodine, it tingled a little, at the place where there were points and where the blood was released from.

Sorry for writing so much, but I have no idea who it is, I wouldn't want to get such huge and unpleasant bites a few more times.

I have two options so far. Leatherworms, or rather leatherworm larvae. I found them inside the couch(I was looking around when I got a few bites)(folding). I found one drop, and 4-5 pieces of small ones. I put it together to show someone. Like, that's who can bite. Today I looked at the sofa again, I didn't find anyone, although there were 2-3 small pieces on the floor near the sofa. The sofa is not so old, it is about 2-3 years old. It is only used for sleeping, there are no animals in the room, because we simply do not let them in. There is a carpet.

The second option, ants. We have a lot of them in our house, at least from the neighbors below. We also periodically poison them, so that they do not allow themselves much. But they still appear at different points throughout the house, at least one or two at a time. Very, very small ant 1-2 mm. However, if you leave a slice of pizza on the table, for example, a raid is guaranteed. [attachmentid()=292170]

It looks like a severe allergic reaction. It's hard to guess whose bite it is. Discard Kozheedov immediately, they are so named because some species eat the skin of dead animals and already dry, and not at all live human. Although many people are afraid of this name, and this fear is fueled by many commercial exterminators.
You have 99% Pharaoh ants. They have a sting, but I've never heard of them using it successfully against humans. And even if the ant's tiny stinger successfully punctures the skin, it is highly doubtful that it will leave such a hole that blood will seep through it. More like some kind of bloodsucker, like a bug or flea. Although they usually do not leave one bite per night, but anything can happen.

Hello! We have these friends in our apartment, or rather in the toilet - http://my-files.ru/61b1h7. They are very small, ranging from 1mm to 2-3mm. Most of them are whitish or almost transparent. Some are slightly brown. Six legs. 2 antennae. They crawl quite briskly. Sometimes, when I try to pin them down, they even try to jump. Today I saw one and it was straight dark dark. The size is approximately 4mi. And also six legs and antennae. But the body, as it seemed to me, is more straight and elongated than that of its transparent counterparts - http://my-files.ru/hu9zd7. For those, it is somewhat more oval with a slightly pointed "ass". The toilet has not been repaired for a long time. As my husband told me, during one period he was often drowned by neighbors from above (we live in a 9-storey building, on the 4th floor. The house itself is panel, we have a brick insert), in this regard, the wallpaper on the ceiling and in some places moved away from the walls. Recently married, I haven't done any toilet repairs yet. Just stripped off all the dust and horror. And I even think that there is mold. It's not very clear, but it looks like it. We live in the Far North. I looked at who here addressed you with what and it seemed to me that they look like hay eaters. If you don't mind, please help me determine who it is. Thank you in advance.

There is no mold or dampness. They weren't there until we left. They sit under baseboards. In the kitchen on the tiles and pipes.

24.10.2017 18:51, Necrocephalus

This is Tribolium. Check all dry foods, including animal feed, cereals, breadcrumbs, pasta, bran, and spices. Dried mushrooms and freeze-dried meat are also at risk. The second option - came from neighbors. Treat ventilation grilles and where water/sewer pipes run through.
