maroya, some kind of cicada. They say that they start to bite a person from extreme thirst, when the food plants dry up. However, I have never experienced it on my own skin, despite the frequent droughts.

Thank you. By name, I was able to clarify:similar to Empasca.
Under the windows, birches, poplars, and cherries are all richly green, even though it's hot... Am I juicier for them??
The moose fly also doesn't bite anyone but me frown.gif

22.08.2017 15:29, maroya

Put up a mosquito net. Cicadas often fly in the evening to the light.

Technically inconvenient for me. If only some essential oil to scare away and not to poison the animals...

22.08.2017 16:55, Necrocephalus

Only one essential oil has a real repellent effect - lemon eucalyptus Corymbia citriodora. But how it will scare away the cicadas is unknown... Again , what should they process?

I'll treat the frames, or maybe I can put them in the lamp.

22.08.2017 18:16, Necrocephalus

I'll treat the frames, or maybe I can put them in the lamp.

Try. But I'm afraid that from such a distance (and from the center of the opening of a normal window to the frame can be a meter) and it will not have the desired efficiency. But if you get a positive effect - write it down, it's interesting. I do not advise you to drip into the lamp - it may hurt your head, the smell will be very strong, and the oil itself may lose its effectiveness when it is very hot. And remember that this oil is quite expensive, the real one can not be cheap. Also remember that concentrated essential oil can be a plasticizer in relation to polymer products, and simply float you plastic frames, and the paint can peel off the wooden ones. Most likely, you should stick a paint tape with cotton wool attached to it and drip oil on the cotton wool.

23.08.2017 0:41, maroya

Then it turned out that essential oils are dangerous for cats ((

Looking for help with almost everything XD. Judge as you like, any opinion will be very important. The story is this, last year I found a regular cabbage, guess where? "in the cabbage, of course. The life cycle from caterpillar to butterfly passed with a bang. I let the baby fly. This year I found two, one in cauliflower, the other in bell pepper. In appearance, the caterpillars are very similar. (First photo) Here's the thing, I fed them from where I found them. The first one even started to pupa up, but suddenly everything stopped, and I think the pupa died. I don't want to part with it at all, in case it's hibernation, or as it should be. I am also worried because last year the pupa was radically different and was generally pupaed on the wall of a plastic bucket, I put a stick on it, and it was doing its business lying down. I don't know what to do next. I ask for the help of professionals and experts. Google says all sorts of heresy. HELP MI PLIZ

Good day to all.
Such friends appeared in the apartment. While I was away, the refrigerator turned off due to a power drop and for a week and a half it was fragrant and bred a lot of people and in huge quantities.
I saw Zhuchkov for the first time just after my arrival. With all worms/larvae/flies, etc. coped. But to determine where these residents appear, and could not. Please help me! Mostly I find it on the windowsill in the kitchen and for some reason in the bathroom (not in the bathroom, but in the bathroom itself). Who is it and where to find its source?
The size is approximately 4 mm...

Hello, dear experts! Attention, question! How and by what means to remove flour mites from the apartment? The apartment is located on the 1st floor. They live only in the bedroom.

27.08.2017 18:47, KM2200

I think Helicoverpa armigera.

A beetle from the family of carapaces (Histeridae). Despite the not very informative photo, I will assume that it is from the genus Saprinus. Carnivores feed on fly larvae, which is why they are found on carrion, manure, excrement, and other decaying objects.

Thank you so much for your reply!
There are two photos, both of which are not informative? The first photo seems to be a close-up. How do I take a picture to get a better view?
If this is it, then in theory they should disappear soon, all the rest of the muck has already been cleaned up?

Some kind of grain. It's not harmful for children. If they appear in a significant amount when the window is closed, it makes sense to look at the stocks of bulk products (seeds in the shell, beans, etc.). You can also not worry about breadcrumbs and pasta.

Good evening, gentlemen ! Sorry that I'm not writing in the topic , but I'm already desperate in search of a forum where to write about my problem. I really hope that someone can help me or tell me where to turn . The problem is that the house has plastic frames installed. This was done about 17 years ago. So, at the beginning of this year, I noticed such a miracle of nature's creation. At first, I even admired it, but this miracle continues to grow and new foci appear in the form of snowflakes . . The windows are by the way on the sunny side . Please tell me what it is and how to deal with it ? And whether it is dangerous for humans . I was afraid for my family . Please don't scold me too much . I know I'm not writing there . Thanks !

Well, yes... This miracle, of course, has nothing to do with insects.
These are crystals of some kind of salt deposited after evaporation of water from the solution. For example, they reminded me very much of hyposulfite crystals. Only who uses it now, and where does it come from inside the double-glazed window?
If the frames are collapsible, you need to open them and just thoroughly wash and dry the inner walls of the glasses before assembling them. But if the frames are not collapsible, then the "treatment" is one-replacement of double-glazed windows. Along with the frames, of course. weep.gif

Hello.I would like to write about the solution to my bug problem, in case someone needs it.After reviewing every inch of the nursery, I decided to try taping the entrance of the heating pipe from the neighbors above and the hole where the hook for the chandelier is attached.and here and there the cracks are not big at all. BUT.....what was my surprise when exactly on the hook from the chandelier they came to us.Now I believe that the problem is solved)))))

So these patterns or colonies continue to increase not very fast of course, but still

No, these are NOT colonies, i.e. NOT alive.
Naturally, the crystals will continue to grow as long as there is a source of solution.

The fact that Aelia is accurate, but the view from such photos can not be said. Related to cereals, accidentally hit.

Hello. Help identify microscopic beetles. The length is about a millimeter, the color is brown (although because of the size they look light), there are no wings, they crawl quickly, they can't jump, it seems. I've seen them in books, on wood, cardboard, paper, and plaster. They seem to feel great in corn filler for animals. There is a feeling that it feeds on dust.
Here is the enlarged photo https://pp.userapi.com/c836125/v836125835/5...n_tnWVQy_cs.jpg
What kind of animal is it, is it dangerous, and how to kill/maim it?
Thank you in advance.

Good afternoon. I checked into a dorm the other day. It was said that someone left food in the refrigerator for the whole summer (something from meat and xs that is still on top). The refrigerator was washed many times with both bleach and vinegar - there was (almost) no smell left. They also re-pasted the wallpaper.
When they started sleeping in the room , they woke up at night because of a bunch of such flies http://dropmefiles.com/195455
They move on the front 4 legs, rear pull, behave very sluggishly.
I kill and sweep out 20 to 30 pieces every morning. They probably get in through a crack in the doorway, but we're working on it.
Tell me, what attracts them and how they can be somehow etched and expelled? Maybe someone is poisoning them and they are moving to us to die?

09.09.2017 23:59, xoshAmadam

Most likely, the larvae that developed in rotting products crawled out somewhere in the pupation room, pupated - and now the imago is coming out.

10.09.2017 1:48, ИНО

Sarcophagidae, or rather one of the gray meat flies (there are several species of them that are indistinguishable from such images), and they have not yet been completely destroyed.

Good afternoon. We built a private house and moved there. We bought new furniture.
Everything was fine until they noticed the small neighbors, first only in the kitchen, then throughout the house. They reproduce very quickly. In size, adults (the largest that we have ever seen) reach 4 mm. Small individuals 1.5-2.5.
My wife and children complained of bites before we found these "neighbors". These are isolated cases of bites. I think if these insects were blood-sucking parasites, then we would have already started freaking out...
I took a picture on my phone as best I could (in macro camera mode). We want to clear the house of them before we get to the ceiling. Please help me figure out what these insects are.

http://dropmefiles.com/55HmL

I forgot to mention what they were looking for on the Internet. We found a lot of different similar ones, this one is more like a "furniture grinder". But they have a "maturity period of one to three years", and ours took a month to fill the whole house.
