Good time of day)
We moved to a new apartment and I began to notice small insects on the bathroom wall, and a few months later I saw them in cereals, in the closet, in my daughter's wooden mosaics. Please help me find out who it is and how to get rid of it

Friends, good afternoon.

A few days ago, in the kitchen on the ceiling, I started noticing such illegal residents. The length is approximately 2 cm. Every day I shoot 5-7 pieces. Please help me identify it. I live in the Krasnodar Territory.

It's hard to see in the photo... Judging by the long mustache and characteristic body shape-a cockroach.

25.11.2020 18:27, ИНО

The caterpillars of some moth with different sawyers, the second one seems to be "stuffed". From what is most often found in apartments, flour fireweed (Pyralis farinalis) comes to mind, although it is far from the fact that this is it.

the body is a cockroach.

During the repair, behind the window frame, there was such a "warehouse" of cocoons (?), 2-3 cm in size , location: Donetsk. What could it be?

So, don't kick me in the head. A friend took a photo on June 1 of this year on Mount Snake. This is our ancient dormant volcano. It exploded earlier, becoming magmatite, or remained an unexploded laccolith - I don't know. I do not remember.
In short, he took off a goat on it... But there are no settlements under the mountain itself. There were quarries for the extraction of stone. The whole mountain was raped. Now it's forever. So - how do you think she got there-ran away because she was crazy from illness? Or were they brought in by good people so that they wouldn't have to watch him die of cancer? But I don't understand the other thing - is it a female, or a male, or a hemophrodite in general? This animal has cancer, right?

20.12.2020 17:02, ИНО

Yes. it looks like breast cancer of the udder with localization in the right nipple. The left nipple is normal. You can't see anything male, so why think of a hermaphrodite?

The forum seems to be completely different...

Happy New Year. Can you tell me who it is? They appeared in the chopped house. Can larvae be pests?

Thank you. If this is an isolated case, then you don't have to worry, if there are a lot of them, then there are woodworms in the house. So?

04.01.2021 0:36, ИНО

Not like that. What does this have to do with woodworms? Ask Google something about the biology of golden eyes before asking such questions on the forum.

Hello, suddenly these midges appeared in the apartment. The size is approx 1mm. Fly to the light (during the day they hang out on the window, in the evening on the lamp). Now I've collected 10 pieces from the window...
Help me identify it mol.gif

But what can you say with this (who did it)? Everything was taken at my CMS at different times.
The leaf is beech.

02.02.2021 23:08, ИНО

3-5-probably Diplolepis mayri
2 - on the fetus? If so, it is probably Diplolepis fructuum.

Both of them are common. But I don't know the first joke-the beech tree doesn't grow here.

Dear entomologists, please tell me how long does a fly that has flown into an apartment live?
We noticed that the fly, when it gets in, flies half-drunk in the evening, and then crawls on the floor and dies a day later.
This moment is very stressful . Suddenly the apartment has harmful fumes from laminate flooring, beams, etc.
We live in an attic apartment. Dry, sunny weather. At the same time, spiders can settle in the corners in some places-they will not die, we will disperse them ourselves. Kaa-that got aphids on the plant, too, midges are not dead. But flies-constantly.
Thank You

Fly to fly discord. If it is a Polenia that has flown in for the winter, it will hide in a corner or crevice and sleep until spring. In fact, flies really need to drink. No water - quick end. weep.gif

05.02.2021 17:47, ИНО

And how can there be no water in a residential apartment? There is also a kitchen, a bathroom, and a toilet at the end of the house smile.gif

I don't recall that any of the flies that flew into my apartment died like that during the day. Except for the dumbest ones, who kept banging on the window until they were exhausted. So it's really a little suspicious.

Yes, I can see that it's not on the Christmas tree. But the dog rose has different organs, on which of them this gall grew, it is not visible in the photo (the base is located behind). Diplolepis fructuum, as the name implies, affects fruits, other species of the genus-vegetative organs.

07.02.2021 15:17, AlenaSmirnova

You won't believe it, but I'm going to start breeding flies in the spring. I'm interested in all the tips. The fact is that I breed chickens and want to use fly larvae as food. Eggs are not expensive, but buy grain...all earnings are reduced to zero. Eggs cost me about the same amount as they cost in the supermarket, so this idea came up. Do you think I can do it?

07.02.2021 18:48, ИНО

It will work, but it will be several orders of magnitude more expensive than grain. Go to a fishing store and ask how much a kilogram of maggots costs.

Hello, I can not determine exactly what kind of spider that appeared at home. I tried Googling it myself, it seems to be similar to Steatoda grossa or Steatoda nobilis. Please help me. How dangerous can it be for pets (for example, cats)?

Good evening to all! Can you tell me who they are? The first houses especially often appear on windowsills. And how to exterminate?

1 - one of the synanthropic grinders (the hosting service doesn't open the image shuffle.gif)
they develop in bulk products (bread grinder), in herbs (tobacco beetle). Control measures-find the contaminated product and throw it away!!!
2-ham leatherworm, if the apartment does not have a stock of dried meat/fish-then a migrant from the attic, where it can develop on the corpses of birds.

I brought a new cactus to the house. In the pot for the cucumber test, black beetles unknown to me were found. They live in the ground (I haven't seen them on the plant itself). It moves at an average speed. They don't look like any popular indoor plant pests (or I didn't find any). There are suspicions that the previous owners of the cactus stood on the balcony or in the country, because the corpses of flies, wasps, ladybirds were found. It is possible that these black beetles are also from the street, but not a fact.
Can you tell me what kind of insect it is? Is it a pest? Is it dangerous for humans, animals, or plants? And how can you get rid of them? I didn't find any information in open sources.
Unfortunately, this is the best photo I can provide.
Thanks!

These are not beetles, but collemboles (legtails) from the Symphypleona group. In general, collemballs often live in flower pots. They feed mainly on dead organic matter, fungi, algae, etc., there are also predators. Some species, just from the above-mentioned order, are considered agricultural pests, although the damage from them is minimal. Unless, sprouts or tender roots can be slightly damaged.

Thank you for your feedback! How can we display them if we assume that they are collemballs? I have already spilled the cactus with Actara - so far the pot is quiet, but I can't be sure that these insects have been destroyed.
I Googled the information on the account of collembol, according to the description and photos they are not very similar to these beetles. In "my" body without segments, as if glossy and more rounded shape. Flat or not, I can't say. The legs are very thin. At first I thought it was some kind of bedbug, but I didn't find any confirmation. The ground was very dry, and without moisture the kollembols would have floated, but these live here.
Are there any other suggestions as to who it might be?? I would appreciate it!
