Caught a couple of bronzes... Apparently, Cetonia Aurata...
According to the content, I asked in the next section, they said you can feed juicy fruits. Offered, do not want)) What kind of jam can I offer them? And whether it is necessary to release them to fly, and that as that painfully ask out)

They like peaches) and bananas... flowers are eaten) you can pick some little ones. You don't need to let them fly.. you do not need to drink if the fruit is juicy)

you can reap honey.. And maybe they don't want to now - and then they'll take it.. Just put and go smile.gif

I feed all my bronzes ( among them there are your representatives) bananas and everyone is happy to eat them! so that your own will eventually eat them willingly!

I do not recommend giving only honey, jam, etc. similar products. They will die quickly after such food.
They love flowers more than fruits, climb on them and lick them, so it's better to give both.
They don't have incisors at all (I think it's called that). There is in the" mouth " something like a forked tongue, like incisors, they JUST lick flowers with them. They will not gnaw anything at you. So if you don't sit around for hours and watch closely, you won't notice.

IS THE TOPIC REALLY NOT ABOUT PARASITES ?! WHAT A BLESSING!

Do they have fangs? What is the general dental formula for bronzes?

In the photo, by the way, not C. aurata, but rather similar to Potosia cuprea ssp. metallica (Herbst, 1786) wink.gif

They need to be released to FLY AWAY. umnik.gif

You will not be able to offer beetles the entire set of BAS necessary for the normal renewal of the chitin shell, the functioning of the nervous, immune and reproductive systems. no.gif

yes.gif they're sticking their arses out of one of them

Apparently very wise lol.gif

All you have to do is talk nonsense. By the way, the beetle on the right is quite young, the milk incisors have not yet fallen out. yes.gif

Riverber like your progress with golden bronze. Have you already made an insectarium for them? Does it work?

09.08.2007 11:31, Шастик

By the way, he recently brought out a couple of Tsetoniy aurat.I honestly did not care for them so much. So, I can conclude that they are not whimsical.I just threw them in a pile of wood and dust, which I picked up in the same place where I found the larvae of these beetles.

09.08.2007 14:33, Morfey

Has anyone tried to contain Oxythyrea funesta? I plan to try it out soon. Not for idle curiosity, but for science's sake… You need to learn some features of the biology of these beetles and get photos of the life of their larvae.

11.08.2007 10:25, alex017

Pick up beetles, and there are sooooo many of them you can heat from one flower and try to keep like me bronovok and their larvae. At least there's something to start with.

I also think that they are not difficult to keep in captivity. As far as I remember, they are even pests, because they fatten the flowers or the contents inside.Well, what to do with them in winter, I do not know, but I think that you can try to give them the same thing as the rest-FRUIT.Or give flowers for Christmas lol.gifSo go for it.By the way, I've been thinking about building houses in an aquarium for a long time.

11.08.2007 22:46, Morfey

Just my scientific topic is related to them, so I want to watch their biological cycle live...

I feed my bronzes with bananas ( I have both tropical and artificial ones) and normally, they eat perfectly and even breed!

So this is not surprising, because for them it is a luxury, especially if it is domestic wink.gif

aha. and when you give nectarine or peaches, they can't come off at all!:))))))))))))) in addition, they also bred in large quantities, now I don't know what to do with themsmile.gif

What's going on, what's going on....
I brought a dozen and a half Protaetia lugubris larvae from the Belgorod province. When they had eaten all the dust from the oak trunk in which I had found them, I had to fill them with birch sawdust - they began to eat. And today I found one cocoon already (although they pupate after wintering, as far as I understand). Through this question, maybe someone knows: does the larva go to the snake in the cockne or is it really a pupa?

26.08.2007 12:47, Шастик

This is already a chrysalis.
Poprikolu I found aurata in the winter in the stump. But I can bet that they don't seem to spend the winter in the adult stage and therefore it can be argued that she went to winter in the pupal stage, and having felt the warming (the winter in Moldova was unusually warm) decided that it was time to go out.

This year, I brought out
the bronzes of Protaetia (Potosia) cuprea metallica ab. volhyniensis (G. & P.) .
You can take a look at the photos: from larva to adult.

That's why broznovki gnaw through any grids that I cover them with? and what - it is not clear...

31.05.2009 14:16, Жабонька

I also brought eleven bronzes from my dacha. they live in the box from the parcel (without a lid. they don't fly away.) they eat refined sugar dissolved in water for a sweet soul. we mated a couple of times. who can tell you where they should lay their eggs? rolleyes.gif

Hello. No one knows what kind of substrate to put in the cage for Gnorimus bartelsi?
And then we have in Stavropol they are quite common, so I wanted to plant them.

27.06.2012 20:25, Svetlana1973

Trouble. The kitties dropped several containers of tropical bronzer larvae. Of course, they didn't run away from the substrate pile, but ... .. mixed 3 different types. Moreover, one type was L3 and two were L2. I understand that it is simply not realistic to divide them by type now. But I can't even figure out what stage the larva confused.gifis at (this is my first experience). Are there any distinctive features in the larvae of bronzes of the second and third stages? wall.gif

27.06.2012 20:29, cherepahovod

L2 should be slightly smaller than L3.

27.06.2012 21:25, Svetlana1973

A little less - the concept is stretchable rolleyes.gifAll zhirnenkie, krupnenkie. Yes, and the types are different, respectively, and the size. Are there any other distinctive features?
Let me explain. 3 pieces of L2 were Chelorrhina polyphemus, which (as I was told) are characterized by canibalism, and sat separately. And they are no different in size from L3 Eudicella gralli. There are no containers to seat everyone separately at the moment. frown.gifWell, we'll have to put them in mugs/glasses for now... L2 Coelorrhina aurata has already been sorted. They are indeed smaller than the others.

In general, larvae of different species have differences. You need to look closely at all sorts of details in the structure of the head, spiracles, etc. If helorrins sit with eudicella, then 99% of them will devour them (if they are larger). If not planted, then it is better to plant in the largest possible container, so that the substrate is at least two to three liters per larva. Then Eudicella will have a chance to survive)) When the helorins fade to the third age, it will be difficult to confuse them with someone else...

15.10.2012 6:28, Svetlana1973

Here's the question. I really look forward to a competent answer.
Are hybrids possible between two types of bronzes? The problem is that these two views are left without a pair and placed together. Should I expect a "surprise" from them, or not?
