Nothing, soon we will fall into a pit of cold weather and norms for two weeks, if not three. I also received Noctua interposita last weekend, which is very early for her.

Well, it's not close at all. Probably 8 kilometers from the Oilman..This is SNT Maisky.or an Albatross..In the direction of Shatura. The places are painfully familiar. Forest fires.. along the highway.

Both SNT Maisky and Albatros are located 1 km from Neftyanik smile.gif8 km is Popliny

Well, maybe 1 km in a straight line..On the highway is clearly more and longer. But this is not an Oil Field ( and especially not Poplar), there are peatlands and a terrible swamp..And this is Gary, this is an Albatross, the forest was there before..Somewhere even pictures were still with the forest years 2010-2012 it seems. There's still apollo caught 3 years ago. there are also individual instances in some places. I haven't been there in a long time..We need to go. Maybe there is something to catch there. There are definitely a lot of mushrooms ).

Today, a friend of mine in Korolev accidentally caught a female Prionus coriarius. One MONTH earlier than the usual deadlines for the Moscow region. Well, if you compare it with abnormally warm years, for 15 days, according to my data. Something is wrong in the Kingdom of Denmark...

Well, I got a female Prionus coriarius on the 27th in the city of Elektrougli, in the afternoon it crawled out of the grass on the road. I don't collect beetles, but I picked them up and put them in a cage on the balcony. Maybe the males will come?

Today I was at Moscow Time for work, in order to "kill time" for about an hour I rummaged in the Altufyevsky reserve (projected). I found a few platitudes, but in the hollow of a birch tree with a nest of Lasius ants, I got an ant cricket Myrmecophilidae, I took it together with the" owners " of the Godfather interestingly-in the personal account.

On the weekend I was at the dacha in Neftyanik, picking mushrooms, in two days 150 white people and this is despite the crowds of pickers. A little light, a little on the bait, in between the rain I tried to catch myrmidon, walked around the Apollo station - there is nothing (although they still flew at the Ryazan station a few days ago). I look at the photos started loading - it pleases smile.gif

No, well, in the new version of the KKMO, at least they added mentions of new finds (the same Gennadich on the electa in Poplar), although they did it as if they didn't believe it, such as there are instructions about the find, a personal message, and so on. At the same time, without changing the categories, maybe the more 0/1 categories, the more profitable it is for someone? Maybe in the next edition some more nonsense and unnecessary water will be removed.

And I wonder, if modern finds are supposed to be the result of flying, then why are the old instructions (already from 1858) not considered as such??? And then the type in the CCMO should not be! Because stray/imported / alien species should not be protected...

I spent the weekend in the north of the Moscow region, 83 km along the Yaroslavl railway. The picture differs significantly from the Orekhovo-Zuyevsky district. Kayas are fresh and massive, fulminates are fresh and in an amount more characteristic of the yugas. I've never seen 50 of them in a night before. From the beginning of the night on the baits, then into the light. The usual sponsor, just as happy with the new ones. But there were no elects and pacts, but this is not surprising, in the district closest to the dacha there is no willow tree at all. But there are a lot of mushrooms, wave after wave of honey mushrooms, white mushrooms, aspen mushrooms. On the plot, the harvest of garden blueberries begins to ripen, tomatoes ripen in the greenhousesmile.gif

Well, don't exaggerate! :- ) Still, the most common and ubiquitous ones are fulminea and nupta... Then fraxini. But electa is also not uncommon in its biotopes.

Well, don't exaggerate! :- ) Still, the most common and ubiquitous ones are fulminea and nupta... Then fraxini. But electa is also not uncommon in its biotopes.

And in my opinion, the most common fraxini and nupta. Fulminate is not often born on 1-3 pcs. per season. A sponsor is born only once. Other types: promissa, pacta, electa, have not yet been found. This is based on observations in the Serpukhov district since 2006.
This year, from 26.07(1 night) and further from 2.08, I hung 2 traps with bait in the Oka floodplain in the district of d. Nikiforovo, and also a couple of evenings I tried to monitor just ropes with bait. Nothing came to the ropes at all. Maybe the nights were cold, it's hard to say. Only 2-3 nupts are caught in catocl traps.(subject to verification in 2-3 days). Old willows and oaks were chosen as trees(they are small in the floodplain). It happens that you get wings from eaten butterflies. Either small birds are taken, or hornets that fly to the bait in abundance. But according to the drawing, all the wings found are from Nupta.
Fraxini and Nupta fly to the light(observations were made in the Arneevo district).
In the area of Nikiforovo, there should definitely be water, but it never came to the bait either this year or last year. Promissa is also announced for the Serpukhov district, but it has not yet been found. As for Electa, there is an even bigger question with her, she is not listed in the PTZ lists. Perhaps there is no electa at all in the south of the Metropolitan Area.
Previously, until 2004, he conducted observations in the Noginsky district of the m. O (Timkovo district): fraxini. Nupta visited regularly, occasionally, but never once did Fulminea arrive. Observations were made on light and bait(although then I used sour kvass). Electa was also never detected. Fraxini, Nupta and pakta flew to kvass.
In this regard, the question is: maybe earlier, from mid-July, you need to monitor the electa? But, probably, all the same in the beginning of August should come across broken butterflies. I would also like to find out from dear Sdi and Gennadich, at what time (i.e. hours) does electa come across?

This year, the elects arrived to me on July 20 quite fresh, Timur also caught them a week ago, but they were no longer fresh. Fly to the bait as soon as it gets completely dark and fit evenly throughout the night. Startled from the bait arrives at the light, sits on the screen and does not shine smile.gif
If you sum everything up, fulminates come first, then fraxinias come next, then nupts. It is clear that in any particular place everything can be different. For example, near Beloomut at Omar's dacha, only promises flew in one night, more than 20 pieces arrived. No other catocals arrived then. It was in a populated area, there were no oaks nearby, there were only mature willows. The next night, the sun shone in the Beloomutskaya oak grove, fulminates, nupts and azho-promissa were coming. For two years of using the bait at the dacha near Orekhovo-Zuyevo, there were more elects than all the other catocals combined. True, there are no statistics at all, in total I used 3 nights of bait last year, this year 3 nights smile.gif

Gentlemen Muscovites, judging by the numerous posts on this forum, you have accumulated a lot of experience in collecting Ptilophora plumigera. please share your observations about what time they can be detected on trunks, i.e. when (approximately) they crawl out to spread their wings and in what weather. I have a maple grove from tsarist times, but I can't even get there by tractor right now, and I don't have much time to go (I would like to use it as much as possible). Thank you in advance!

In the Moscow region and Moscow since the end of September. Phenologically, the maple tree has turned yellow. By time of day-lunch time is fine )). In terms of weather - yes, almost any, apparently. And in wet weather, you can collect a lot, and in sunny weather. Personally, I once saw fresh-washed people in the TSHA Park under heavy snow that lasted for half an hour. This was back in 2012. Which tree is the best place to look for them? On one where you can see them better. In the TSHA Park, they were more often found on pine trees. They are found at eye level and below, often on basal moss, where they are also clearly visible. They can also be found on the tips of branches. If you are lucky, you may see a mass release of imago. Don't forget to look around the streetlights, along the fences. Naturally, they fly to the light very willingly.
I hope my colleagues will add to this list.
Although, so much has been written about this butterfly here since Zhuk and Lepidopterolog discovered it in Timka that you can already write on the topic of the guideline. Yes, and a wonderful tradition was born at the forum-to close the season in Timirsky Park.

Last weekend, in Moscow, in the area of the Ukhtomskaya platform, every night in the first two hours after sunset, more than a hundred plumigera arrive, friends asked to take them several pairs (in tattoos). There is almost nothing else, lonely wintering scoops, brumatoos/bassoons, skinners...

Shone in the evening of 15.10.19 at his dacha in Serpukhov district (d. Martyanovo). 1 male Ptilophora plumigera arrived (about 20.00). Usually in these places plumigers fly in the first half of October, but only occasionally, such a mass scale as in the photo at SDI does not happen.
In addition to the plumigera, finger-flies, winter moths (Operophtera brumata), individual scoops(apparently wintering) and mosquitoes fly.
