Apart from auraga, only Aprilina can be distinguished from non-frequent guests. And so, the catocals of Fraxinia continue to fly, and summer butterflies still arrive. There are quite a lot of porcini mushrooms in the forest. Egeria fly, I don't even know what generation, they started this year in April.

Has anyone met Thyris fenestrella in MO?

The season closed, and the last bombicoids flew. After them, nothing interesting happens anymore. There were more mushrooms, the second wave of honey agarics, young white mushrooms, buttercups, podberezoviki, Polish, gray mosses went.

TCA 2020
Report on our trip to the park of the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy together with Zhuk 10.10.2020.
This week I visited the park twice on my own and didn't have much success. In total, only 2 specimens of Larerannis ortogrammaria were found in 5 hours of searching. The park had been dry all week, the fallen leaves rustling underfoot. However, after the rains on Thursday and Friday, the situation has changed. On Friday evening, in the area where I live, the lime trees were full of male Operophtera brumata and we decided to try our luck in TLC.
We walked in the park for more than 6 hours.
What can be noted: O. brumata flies en masse, there are a lot of males of different colors at any stage of wing spreading. You can see them especially well on fences. In addition, several L. ortogrammaria have been encountered. There were only two Erannis defoliaria, and we found them near the end of the hike. There are also several species of scoops: Agrochola circellaris, Amphipya pyramidea.
In one of the areas of the park, we were pleased with 3 pieces of Ptilophora plumigera, including one female.
Surprisingly, we also managed to fulfill the main goal of the trip: we found a female, presumably O. fagata, whose male we found only in the amount of one piece.

On the last warm day, I spat at work and went to my place in Neftyanik for mushrooms. There is a mushroom, good white ones, a lot of butter and Polish ones. After the mushrooms, I stopped to see the yolks, there are not many of them, the photo shows the entire catch in 15 minutes. There are also khialas and myrmidons, one khiala is even somewhat similar to erata. A lot of admirals, burdocks, latons, some crazy pigeons. If the whole field was in flowers, then everything on it was fed, a lot of shovels, a lot of whiteflies and lemongrass. And this is October 14! Why should we go to Europe if it came to us by itself, at least because of the weather?
PS I was confirmed here that the lower right erata, apparently flew from the south in our October summer! At 14.30 when I caught it was +20!

Yes, I can confirm that over the past two weeks, over the weekend, attempts to collect mushrooms in the Yaroslavl region near Pleshcheyev lake led to the fact that the mushrooms were not collected, but we were successfully fed by elk flies. There are hundreds of them in the swamps in this heat, so there was no time for mushrooms, which were really very few. Therefore, I had to go from the dacha on 83 km of the Yaroslavl highway near Orekhovo-Zuyevo to another dacha and collect mushrooms there frown.gif

This year I decided to pay attention to coleoptera.
Most of the collections are made with the help of soil traps in three points of the Moscow region: 1) Chekhov district (mixed forest); 2) sosnovy bor and 3) syraya polyana in Serpukhov district.
The left part of the box - beetles collected on cow dung.
Lower right corner - manual harvesting on the clay-sand bank of a forest pond.
Some ground beetles are hand-picked in a mixed forest in the south-west of Moscow.

Yes. I put one soil trap on the swampy bank of a forest pond. As a result, a water scorpion, Dytiscus marginalis and a leech got there. I saw all three creatures for the first time in my life. It was very interesting.

My reports on the Oil industry this year are quite monotonous frown.gifAgain mushrooms, they are there, although they have become somewhat less. Although on the weekend of October 24 it was quite warm, the temperature fluctuated around plus 14, but the sun was sporadic, so we didn't see smile.gifany yellowheads At night, another aurago flew in, most likely it lives here, and not knocked up. In general, despite the plus 10, the screen is already flying sluggishly at night, 3 types of scoops, winter moth and plumigers. The season is over frown.gif

On November 9, the Moscow Region season ended. yesterday approx.+9, then immediately cold snap:
picture: 2020_11_05_155655_2.gif
I didn't look at the diaries, but from memory-the end of the 90s-the last temperatures around +9+11 in the afternoon were also exactly approx.November 10th, give or take a day.

In the photo, what is selected immediately on the mattress and in the tire iron from 90 grams of insects (7 liters, 30 deep plates), the rest is in the alcohol archive. Methods: I wash the catch in water, throw it in the tray-I choose garbage, alcohol groups on a blotter, for drying - I put what I need on a piece of paper slightly filled with water - the wingswhiskers are easily straightened, then I drain the water from the tray or pull it out with a syringe, and when it dries up night-day (slowing down evaporation, covering it with another tray to not dry until I get ready) - everything is soft and elastic-I straighten it out. The flies will be as good as new, well,as far as they could be beaten with bristles during straining and washing - often quite good, but you need to straighten your legs-whiskers and "comb" the bristles.
If there is no time to immediately disassemble fresh, fixed "for later" and taken out of alcohol (pour an absolute 1:1 volume of the material, after 2 weeks or a month, replace the healing fat infusion with fresh 70%alcohol), everything with soft covers will require time-consuming wiring for alcohols and acetone. I decided to avoid such an extra effort, to disassemble more immediately,at least put it on cotton wool. If you don't have time to disassemble right away, but put it aside for a few days.days-I pour it in vinegar and keep it in the refrigerator for several days (but then the snails soften-decalcify,and the flies will drop their eyes when they dry). Drying stage:
picture: DSC02902.JPG
from Oct 24 to Nov 3. glaciers have already started to appear (although RoPro photographed them already on 30.9.2017), only 2 males and 2 females at two points, both at the edge of the coniferous-mixed forest of the south-western exposure.
At the same time, there was still quite a riot of parasitic diversity.pereponov and other fragments of summer - on the eye and the net can not see anything, but they are quite caught in such a late season, 3 times richer than the one presented (this last week). Newts also migrated through the forest.
There are no more newts in this catch, the drift slugs Krynickillus were walking less, but suddenly the juvenile small gray-striped Deroceras suddenly popped out, and the number and diversity of Proctotrupidae sharply increased. Senkos don't care - autumn is their time. mushroom flies Heleomyzidae are also in full late autumn diversity, but here they are not selected at all, male mushroom mosquitoes are in alcohol (like Phoridae - there were very few of them). The calliphorids merged sharply - only 1 male Calliphora per week of trap exposure. the peak of barabus-nemorabus was somewhere in mid-late September.

Very strange! The mother-and-stepmother has not been on the heating mains for several days, and according to my observations, this guarantees the output of parthenias and pilosaria.

UPD: Butterflies want the first normal report of 2021 to open 101 forum pages, so you need 6 more flood messages here.

The season started on March 18... from the May butterfly Choreutis pariana. To pair it with Autographa mandarina - for the fact that it is also square.

and now the question has arisen, how far to the north in the ECR goes metallovidka Euchalcia consona? It's her food plant. Is there a chance to find this species in the south of the Moscow region?

Volodya Vasilenko last night shone a light at his home in Alferovo. There are no Lanestris. The Siversies are arriving. Male endromis flew. Moth scoops are standard for spring. In my Ukhtomka village on the outskirts of Moscow, creposcularia moths have already flown, and early spring moths and scoops are also flying.

Jogging in the Yegoryevsky and Lukhovitsky districts of the Moscow region on April 17, 2021. The photo could not be attached. Among other things, the apollo points were checked; S. V. Kovalev noted a feeding apollo caterpillar (7 mm). A sign of the apollo biotope (this is not only for the Ministry of Defense), the presence of a landfill is becoming more and more common from year to year. In the Lukhovitsy district, two larvae of osmoderma and cancellatus were found under the bark of one fallen dead oak tree (among the rot and their own droppings), and three cucuzhus were found under the bark of another.

Incomplete stardart set of flying birds in the spring: vesennitsa (only parthenias are noted), lemongrass (almost exclusively males are noted), c-album, urticaria, xanthomelas, 1 specimen was recorded in the Yegoryevsky district. mourners.

Two days earlier, I had surveyed the nature of the territory of the Moscow Radio Engineering Plant, which is now mostly occupied by third-party enterprises (if you are interested, you can look at the Yandex map of Moscow and see how many buildings and institutions and what territory are listed at the simple address Vereyskaya str., 29). The most interesting thing was to observe on the edge of the forest a sandy cliff with many minks 6 millimeters in diameter, near which several individuals of a large buzzer were spinning. In selectively checked burrows, many remains of exuvia pupae were found.
