The moderator does not deal with such matters. It was a forum robot. Too many photos, apparently.
And there is still no need to post" funny " pictures with certain organs here, I hid them.

Culture is a culture, but on this forum there are certain rules that should be followed. People, as you know, do not know how to restrain themselves, and that's why the rules apply.

It is incredible that my report follows Viktor's report on my favorite Ukok. I sincerely hope that my little consultations helped him a little this summer.
So, Mongolia ...
from June 30 to July 28. Good luck. Very cold and rainy year! Approximately 12 thousand butterflies and 2000 beetles were collected in 3 regions of Bayan-Ulgi, Kobdos and Gobi-Altai aimags. The team consists of Anikin (Saratov), Doroshkin, Guskova (Chelyabinsk), 2 young botanists, the driver and myself. The estimate is about 110 tr
. Every day caught in the light, quite successful and daily fees.
Mongolia is a wild and beautiful country in its repertoire.

What's it?....

Victor, the photo is super - - - you have a huge collection of art photos-not just butterflies.
How long have you seen a selection of photos of local resorts from different places-Celebes, Thailand.I remember many photos - this is something-just super-photos of night fishing-photos of different types, people. You then took photos with Nikon-I came to visit you-I bought a canon with an 80 mm lens-you explained to me a little how to handle it better.
Should I try sending it to the National Geographic magazine?

02.08.2010 10:52, Гундоров Сергей

Victor has done a lot for entomology.
Just try to imagine and evaluate the number and variety of his expeditions?
He devoted many years to entomology, visiting many remote corners of the planet.I've been through a lot.How many new taxa are described from its collections-A LOT!!!

Greetings to Anikin from his hometown

03.08.2010 21:45, Андреас

I look at the reports, and it's not even envy that gnaws, but annoyance from my own inferiority or something...
I understand that some (a very small number, probably) are just lucky - their luck has thrown them in the right place at the right time... "I'm not talking about a ticket that fell out of the sky into white man's untrodden territory..."
Others, for certain reasons, manage to earn enough to afford to spend this huge amount on a trip to the end of the earth...
The third can be released by their relatives and not cursed; and they will not lose their job, working for themselves or adjusting to the holiday...
Others simply put entomology above all domestic, social, material, and family problems; and fanatically strive to get there and live for it...

I sincerely express my gratitude to colleagues who have committed such acts, regardless of the reasons and opportunities. I try to imagine myself in their shoes, feeling these crazy difficulties and this crazy high from touching the beautiful and existing...

Your Andreas

The other day I returned from an expedition to a children's ecological camp in Northern Mongolia, to Lake Hubsugul, where I went as a teacher of entomology and macro photography. In fact, we were in Mongolia from July 19 to August 1, and we also managed to fish a little in the village of Kultuk near Lake Baikal and in Buryatia.
In Khubsugul, our camp was based on the shore of a lake at the confluence of the Ikh-Noen-Gol River, 30 km from the village. Khanh. I made sorties within 20-25 km from the coast. A huge variety of biotopes is striking at a small elevation difference (the lake itself is located at an altitude of approximately 1,650 m above sea level, around – small peaks of 1800 – 2000 m): there are sand dunes on the shore, leafy forests, steppes, swamps, alpine meadows, inaccessible rocks, and glacial tundra. In short, a very strong geobotanical shock smile.gif
Despite the extremely inhospitable and changeable weather (on rare days up to +20, at night usually in the area of +5-10, very frequent rains, constant fogs, sometimes snow), we managed to collect a lot of interesting material. Of the various species, mention should be made primarily of dipper bears: Chelis dahurica, Sibirarctia buraetica, Stigmatophora micans, Parasemia plantaginis sifanica, Spiris striata, not to mention Arctia caja sajana and Diacrisia sannio.
Among the mace-moustaches, it is worth mentioning a certain pyrgus cf. sibirica, 4 species of Parnassus (shtubbendorfi, nomion dis, phoebus fortuna, apollo hesebolus), 3 species of colias (tyche, viluiensis, palaeno orientalis), Synchloe callidice, 4 species of erebia (pawlowskii, kefersteini, neriene, callias simulata), 2-3 species eneis (from nanna and magna groups), flocks of Boeberia parmenio and Hipparchia autonoe, a little Coenonympha oedippus, just a little Issoria eugenia, 2 species of klossian (titania staudingeri and selenis sibirica), Proclossiana eunomia acidalia, Boloria purpurea, some completely unimaginable melicta, melitea from the didyma group, Maculinea cyanecula, Plebeius subsolanus, P. mongolicus, Albulina orbitula sajana, Polyommatus erotides, and a number of other rather unprincipled things.
My friend, an amateur coleopterologist, who does not live on the forum yet, will tell you in detail about beetles, I can only mention Cicindela coerulea nitida, some dorcadions and Hoplia aureola. Among the other insects, I was struck by a horseman mowing under a winged lyazius, and a mosquito mowing under a rider, and among the non – insects-herds of yaks and various yak products (milk, cheese, sour cream, cream, curdled milk). Well, the Mongols themselves are quite funny – desperate drivers of loaves.
That's it, now I'm hanging out in Moscow and the region after a total of more than 10 weeks in the field for a year smile.gif
And some photos for priming, there will be more later

it wasn't an expedition yet, I went at the invitation of the Tokyo Agricultural University, we were driven a little bit by nature. And the main task was museums and museums.
Although I caught something. But strikingly poor. But fellow botanists have found an excellent herbarium. We have one of the largest herbariums in Russia in Japan by the way.
