Rhagastis castor, most likely. I consider and rubetra, but this image http://taibnet.sinica.edu.tw/chi/taibnet_addpicture3.php?name_code=347696&id=12041 prone to Castor)
Prochoreutis sehestediana? (had a little doubt, the view is very similar to myllerana, but there are brighter than white rice)
I have it easy "in your face" I know)) The first non-small butterfly, stranded on the grid, on my first night LW Fotolia - impressed, the only type of its kind in the Russian Federation) There is the frame.
Thank you, Basil. In her thought, but something confused, reinsured. And about six months ago, the synonym asked here http://lepidoptera.ru/gallery/28061
Vasily, Dmitry, are you sure about the ID? I may be wrong but isn't this claretta? Podaliriata looks somehow different in tails http://www.boldsystems.org/index.php/Taxbrowser_Taxonpage?taxid=228393 Also mothsofborneo.com says clearly about distinctions in Diagnosis : http://www.mothsofborneo.com/part-11/Ourapterygini/ourapterygini_1_1.php
Doubts between two (of three) Spaniocentra from Borneo, Spaniocentra lobata and endemic Spaniocentra apatelloides. Looking at how brown parts are spread, rather first one.
Note to the form Spilosoma lubricipedum (removed from the base of 26.09.2014 20:10): Peter, need to combine with this kind http://lepidoptera.ru/taxonomy/6680. The only difference in spelling lubricipeda (um)
Peter, you need to combine this with the kind of http://lepidoptera.ru/taxonomy/19040. The only difference in spelling Macrocht h onia / The Sinev - without h, the Japanese on funet.fi, GBIF.ORG and a number of others. Sites - with h
Vasily, I don't insist on ID, just suppose... Still what about Japanese elegans may differ a lot compared to elegans from Borneo?) Please check the same Japanese, pics from Borneo: http://www.jpmoth.org/~dmoth/74_Geometridae/72.2_Ennominae/2729_Dilophodes_elegans/Dilophodes%20elegans.htm
Vasily, why the very meeki? Which sources you relied upon? Nothing possible to see on mothsofborneo.com, there are other websites though with quite clear descriptions of different features in these species. There is no dark grey line which is specific for meeki: http://www.papua-insects.nl/insect%20orders/Lepidoptera/Euteliidae/Euteliinae/Penicillaria/Penicillaria%20meeki.htm. Here is the ...
When I press any of those, nothing happens (only shift to the very pic). Before everything worked fine, I edited couple of times my comments.
Sadly last two days can't use "Edit" and "Delete" buttons as they don't function, so add, this is more often known as Dirades kosemponicola.
The subgenus shows pictures Heliconiinae. Peter, 2 lists with other non-conformity detected in the sent mail.
And in my opinion, is not it. The author himself has defined and put in Psyche casta (et al. Photo), but asks to check for compliance with the mindRebelia herrichiella, and this is likely. Or others. View from Rebelia ... So, I think, will not have to endure
There are 2 photos of the butterflies, we have already dealt with this. Second http://lepidoptera.ru/gallery/26121. We ought to leave one (the primary was just that). Here the formPsyche castamove, of course, if it is so. Photo right is available.
Peter probably. This kind of double http://lepidoptera.ru/taxonomy/40213. By Sinev rightParatalanta ussurialis(Bremer, 1864). Rod Paratalanta all need to understand. The website lacks the two species - Paratalanta jessica (Butler, 1878) and Paratalanta taiwanensis Yamanaka, 1972 (in both species have Sinev). But there is an incomprehensible Jessica taiwanensis Yamanaka, 1972. Rod Jessica in Sinev ...
The chief of the Butterfly House said they surely didn't have P. pitmani, only P. hipponous and Р. polytes. So the ID is right) Bit later about the original stuff.
So I talked to the chief of the Butterfly House, they didn't receive M.helenor so far, will get later. These were M. peleides.
Didn't colourized this. Probably the light is the thing.. It was quite dark, no sunshine, past 5... I've just checked other shots, different angles, less of this greeny tincture.
Suprised... What's this "all"? I already added here aglaja from Far East http://lepidoptera.pro/gallery/22032, or you meant this very specimen?
2 of 4 Stigmatophora species in Primorye clearly don't pass, 2 rest look quite alike but have distinctive features in underside and upperside forewings. They are described in V. V. Dubatolov's Guide to Lithosiinae: http://szmn.eco.nsc.ru/Lithosiinae/Stigmatophora_flava.htm and http://szmn.eco.nsc.ru/Lithosiinae/Stigmatophora_leacrita.htm So here's rather Stigmatophora leacrita (jpmoth describes ...
I'd put to Argynnis adippe female, not sure though as it's Far East) Still it's tough to clear Far East adippe-like-xipe, coredippe, xanthodippe, vorax … The forewing pattern looks confusing at apex. I reread the whole old discussion http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtopic=193914&st=50 beginning with adippe-like from Primorye added for ID ...
