Do we need message board?

Community and ForumWebsite news and updatesDo we need message board?

Peter Khramov, 29.01.2013 12:56

That's the question. Does the website need something of a message board in addition to the existing sections we've got? With threads like "Questions on the photo upload" or "Wishes/suggestions on the website" or "ID questions" (those which are over the discussion of a certain photo") or "Travel notes" and so forth?
P. S. To Dmitry Kurganov: you seem to have your mail account broken (550 Message was not accepted -- invalid mailbox), so please do share your thoughts on message board right here, also if possible would be great to have your mailbox fixed for contacts with others and either subscriptions.

I think yes. Even I am myself not a frequent visitor, imho, message board is of need. Without one it's hard to make a good home community on the website. Threads may vary like advises on butterfly photography, discussions on the website development, identification with photos of poor quality and many more, maybe even some off top threads )).

I'm here not long and wonder too how people communicate without message board )

Identification questions. Here's a picture http://lepidoptera.pro/gallery/20771, not sure even what's its family? Maybe, there should be opened some thread where those interested could ask why an imago goes to this or that family or species. I'd like to practice in identifying and to get corrected by professional entomologists using their slang. All unknown definitions can be found on the web, or in tough cases they may be asked right here.
It's already told here that questions of the kind are already being discussed on other websites. Can't say about others, but for me personally it would be much easier to do it here and get info on this website. I've checked another site, couldn't upload anything there and so I got lost.

Seems that the Community's about to transform into something of a message board...

It's time, maybe? Looking back at many years of eliminating science (no one to forget protest meetings, blocked roads and so on), different cuts including taxonomists. Hopefully, some things in this country have been changed for the better.
