- Menelaides alcmenor; Papilio rhetenor; Papilio icarius. [PC81].
Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species
- Papilio alcmenor alcmenor Westwood, 1841: wingspan 90-110 mm. In male of a typical form, leucocelis Jordan, 1909 usually tailess, UP is black, filled in by a red-centered black spot and also with a large oval white spot in space 2 which divided by filing in large black spot; UN black with a reddish patch at the base of FW (fore - wing), entering HW (hind - wing), broadly along the dorsum, covering most of space 2 and 1b. A short tailed form, HW with a short tail at vein 3 and another broad long tail a broad white discal patch at end cell covering the base of spaces 4-6. [144].
