Taxonomy, synonyms and combinations

  • Achillides elephenor. [PC81].

Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Wingspan 95-105 mm. Head is yellow, UP black, FW (fore - wind) with paler streaks between veins. it is similar in appearance to the Spangle (P. protenor) but HW (hind - wing) is narrower and UP is heavily dusted with brilliant blue or green scales, UpH has only one red tornal spot with a black spot in the center. [144].
