I apologize in advance for bothering you.
I am engaged in translating board games from English, and recently started translating the game "Hidden Empire" about the life of ants. I came across several terms that I would like to clarify with knowledgeable people.
1. Medias-are described as larger workers, but not soldiers (Majors).
(The largest workers in a colony are called “majors”, and the in-between, medium sized workers are called “medias”. The smallest workers are called “minors”, but we just refer to them as “workers”in the rules.) Do you have a suitable Russian name for them?
2. Virgin Queen-Queens that fly out of the nest on a mating flight and establish a new nest. (Some female pupae may emerge as reproductive, winged adults called virgin queens. During a nuptial flight, these ants leave their colony to seek mates and attempt to found new colonies of their own). Similarly, is there a special name in Russian?
