Hello! Recently (22.07.16) I was in Sochi and near the arboretum, in the parking lot, I saw just amazing insects. My attention was drawn to the strange trajectory of small white fluffs, as it turned out on closer inspection, they were crawling on the car. They were small insects, the body of which was about 5 mm with a lush tail, slightly larger than the insect itself, which resembled the fluff of a dandelion. Just wonders of mimicry! Having already looked closely, I found that the branches of a nearby tree were simply covered with these"fluff". I didn't find what it is on the Internet. But I wasn't the only one trying to find out. In addition to them, there were many brown moths about 1-1. 5 cm in size. Perhaps they are somehow interconnected and this will help in determining. I enclose the photo...

Probably Diplolepis mayri, but I can't say for sure, I just picked up the most similar galls among the representatives of this genus from the pictures.

Good afternoon!
Please help me with the definition.
This morning I found such an insect in the apartment (several pieces along the wooden skirting board).
In addition to the name, I am also interested in where they could have come from and what they eat? Just in the apartment cleanliness is observed on an ongoing basis.
The photo is terrible, because apart from a cheap phone and a plastic magnifying glass, there are no other means for photo fixation.
They don't jump, they crawl slowly.
Ufa, August.
Thanks for attention.

Oryzaephilus surinamensis.

Thank you very much!
Very similar, but for some reason Google says that it has 6 legs, and its instance only saw 4. I'll try to find another undiluted one and examine it carefully.
This is what kind of expert you need to be to determine with such a soapy photo.
Admiration and respect!

28.08.2016 20:46, ИНО

All insects have 6 legs (with the exception of rare cases of their reduction). In this case, one pair seems to be broken off. This flour eater is one of the most extensive kitchen synanthropes, and it also has a rather original appearance, so it is very likely determined even by bad photos. But you should not even try to identify a wild beetle from a genus with hundreds of similar species from such images. And many are generally determined only by the genitals, which must first be inflated.

What kind of philocrania is this?

P. paradoxa.
The genus is monotypic, and all other taxa in it are synonymous paradoxes. There are some suspicions only about Madagascar, but the continental paradox is so variable that it is not easy to verify them.

Weevil Otiorhynchus ovatus. In your home (and, especially, in the bed) gets accidentally. It is not dangerous for humans.

08.09.2016 0:57, ККут

Exactly. He. I searched the entire Internet, couldn't find who I looked like. And where did it come from ? And how to deal with it. Already 3 pieces met. There is an infant in the room. I'm afraid the bug won't get anywhere. Thank you so much for suggesting it! !!

08.09.2016 8:00, Mantispid

any strawberry mustaches, saplings, potted flowers, anything like that brought home ?

08.09.2016 11:02, ККут

Potted flowers are on the windowsill.

08.09.2016 11:17, Mantispid

No, if they have been standing for a long time, then this is not the case. But if they brought it from the dacha, they could easily have brought it with them.
If there is nothing like this, then they crawled in by accident. Anything can happen.
