and sorry for the question what are the traps

Barber's soil traps - a container buried in the soil (glasses, cans, etc.) with a bait (a rich choice) for catching ground insects

30.08.2009 15:13, косинус

on 1-2photo on my carabus intracatus on 3-4 kakayato chernotela

30.08.2009 15:15, Алексей Сажнев

nope, I think definitely not Sarabus intracatus

30.08.2009 15:25, Yanich

Can't it be Carabus violaceus Linnaeus, 1758?

30.08.2009 15:26, Алексей Сажнев

Carabus violaceus without ribs

30.08.2009 15:29, Yanich

then the question remains open smile.gif

30.08.2009 15:35, Yanich

Some strange C. exaratus maybe?

???Ground beetles confused.gifFirst (Photo 1,2) from the Stavropol Territory, Blagodarnensky district (9.08.2009)

ground beetle can be something from Megodontus - for example, exaratus Quensel, 1806

30.08.2009 15:44, evk

then the question remains open smile.gif

Yes, we will close your question smile.gifThere is nothing but Carabus exaratus here in the photowink.gif, and the black calf is Tentyria nomas.

what was required to prove)))

30.08.2009 15:52, evk

here's a bigger one

But I don't know if it's denticolle or investigator. Look at the pronotum for yourself. If its rear corners are rather strongly protruding back and b. m. acute-angled, then denticolle, and if these same corners form short rectangular and rounded blades at the top, then investigator. In the photo, the angle is such that it is not visible.
And the traps have already been explained.

Please help me identify a beetle from Western Siberia.
Verbal portrait: length 1.5-2 cm, back part-rounded, one rigid wing, color-green "chameleon", antennae-similar to a May beetle.

Tell me - this is the usual view for the middle lane
And what does it mean under-painted? rolleyes.gif
Thank You

30.08.2009 17:39, Fornax13

Yes, not uncommon, in general. If you specifically search, of course smile.gif
Well, that is, he just recently came out of the pupa and did not have time to get quite strong and colored.

It is unrealistic to click on such an increase. Yes, and shit'onosku too-ideally, you should look at the claws and underside-although it is likely that this is a common Cassida rubiginosa.

Nothing to shoot with :- (
To clarify: it has one rigid wing - in flight it looks like an open hood of a car :- ) And the one in the photo-it looks like two rigid wings. And the color seems to be green-blue (I'll check with my brother tomorrow).

wise snake-barbel Monochamus sp. (maybe banal-urusova)
yunnat - maybe some kind of bronze? Just they do not open the elytra.

Here's a picture: http://www.zin.ru/animalia/coleoptera/images/gum40216.jpg

Then Monochamus galloprovincialis is most likely...

Then Monochamus galloprovincialis is most likely...

And then there may be options! Urussovi monohamus is a complete exotic for us, but I caught it-they bring it with wood to woodworking plants. Even in Kalmykia, where there are no conifers by definition, they were found. Yours doesn't look much like our native galloprovincialis. You don't have to look at the photo. Most likely, he flew to the island from somewhere on the factory line of the city - there is a lot of woodworking there and you can find the devil-those from Siberia, Altai, etc. I didn't see many pine trees on Sarpinsky island, and old-growth plants are needed for Monohamuses.

30.08.2009 21:57, Mantispid

In galloprovincialis, the shield with a black base is definitely not him!
Alternatively, there is also Monochamus sartor with a yellow shield.

Beetles DON'T HAVE ONE HARD WING!!! There can be two fused and rising together or not rising at all in flight (the rear ones open from under the elytra. This is typical for bronzes and a number of dung beetles, but such dung beetles in Western Siberia are black. Bronzovok look in the network!

30.08.2009 22:14, evk

I would say female Monochamus (Monochamus) sutor sutor (Linnaeus, 1758)
and at the expense of sartor Fabricius, 1787 so he is in Europe, in Ukraine from the former republics of the USSR

Well, sutor has never been found in our country before. At one time, Misha Danilevsky drove (there were doubts), but alas .. No-one galloprovincialis. But, as I wrote above , they can bring anything with the forest!

30.08.2009 22:15, evk

I can give it to you or Kravets for execution...

The easiest way is for Shura to go to the Alley - his verdict will be finalsmile.gif!
