In the sense of Blaps letnifera? It's quite ordinary there, even the yard is full. My mother had once noticed Liparus ' craving for beetles in order to help her dear guest in his difficult task, and she had collected half a hundred of them in a bucket for him, which he was very happy about. smile.gif
I posted it because I might have found something else in the mountains...

I'm not good at them myself. It was just brought to me from Azerbaijan and yours is very similar.

good evening.
1. 6.5 mm. it seems to me that Polydrosus can be used as a variant of pilifer.
On the elytra there are clearly visible raised dark hairs.
Scalloped thighs. The bristles are shiny, greenish, not continuous on the elytra, forming spots without bristles.

Dear experts, experts, please help us identify the false layer: Crimea, Alushta region, spring 2009 in the litter under a hazel tree, body length about 4 mm: a terrible beast, there is nothing like this in the determinants of our and Western European fauna!!! And the Far East too!

Nothing surprising.
I would venture to assume that this is Phaenotherion knirschi Breit, 1912.
I believe, just described from the Crimea.

So I couldn't make out the color of the head from the picture, and for some reason I was more inclined that it wasn't black... If it is black, then, of course, Triplax collaris.

Did you watch it in Cherepanov (p. 164-165) and Krasny (p. 523)? Ampedus eurinus Tscherepanov (= A. lepidus). The very thing. And what are the "options"?

Ampedusov is well defined by Gurieva. If memory serves, Plantago has this volume of fauna in his library.
