What always struck me about the moth is that the coloration is similar, not that the species and genera are different... eek.gif

Well, no one recognized the fathead... weep.gif By the way, in Primorye, fatheads sometimes fly to the light (although rarely).

Here is another attempt to identify the Vietnamese butterfly, but already a hawk moth:

This is Thera obeliscata, firmata in general in the MO (and in neighboring ones) is not present.

I agree, I don't have firmata in my collection either. But the argument that it is not in the lists can not be, it seems to me weak, for example-Epilecta linogrisea in the list Klyuchko is given only for the West and the Crimea, but I caught it right in Kiev. Comaea margaritata doesn't seem to exist in the center of Ukraine either, in any case, our moth specialist was surprised to see my margaritata from Cherkasy region, etc.

This site is even better: http://jeffhiggott.topcities.com/lepidopte...ometridae1.html
But determining by appearance (from pictures) does not always give the correct result. weep.gif
Therefore recheck

I give a site with a table, there are many sites with pictures, the one you gave is not the best, especially regarding Pyrgus

I agree that distribution is not an argument, I just added it just in case.
The English atlas [Skinner, 1984] simply says to distinguish them as follows::

And here, in my opinion, it is Th. obeliscata.

I understand that for many it's a trivial matter, but I can't deal with parnassus (with the help of Tuzov!). Please tell us who they are (up to subspecies, if possible).
