It is very similar to Larerannis orthogrammaria, a Far Eastern species that was brought to Moscow.

You know better, you even collected females in the park. How did the article get to you?

Maybe they are), Sakhalin is not close to my region, so I put the question.
In Siberia, this species is common, now they even fly in the snow at a temperature of -1, +2.

Sakhalin is poorly studied, you have already found a lot of new things for the region, maybe you didn't specify this species earlier, but it exists, although there are probably many similar species there.

Dear Entomologists, hello! I have a whole box of Saturn, Russia, the former Soviet Union and the tropics. Help me figure it out. I hope this forum works, as I saw the last posts from this date.
These two pologayu different types of Gnome and Artemis but, it seems that the Chinese or Europeans messed up something with the taxonomy and now the gnome is in doubt??? Or something like that???
Sorry for the photo, I took it in the evening under artificial light.
Salute to all! smile.gif

By appearance, Actias artemis (Bremer & Gray, 1853) differs from Actias gnoma (Butler, 1877) by shorter "tails" and the shape of the "eye" on the hind wings (smaller and similar to a crescent), and generally similar to each other. Judging by these differences, the upper one is a Dwarf's peacock eye, and the lower one is Artemis.
I haven't heard anything about changes in taxonomy yet, maybe someone who is competent in this matter will answer.

Everything is clearly described in the article, please read it. Your lower peacock-eye is still very similar to A. dulcinea, in many ways. It would be better to conduct a genital analysis, if you want to find out more precisely who you have, cook it.
