An unexpected find came to light. I'm leaning more towards Actias gnoma, but I'm not sure. Span 92 mm
. 12. 08. 2018, Zabaikalsky Krai, Baley.

Vyacheslav, not so long ago I tried to sort out my own and from the photo it seems that you do not have a gnome but Artemis. The double black line on the eyes is the first difference. Well, they seem to indicate it, plus the shape of the eye itself. If you want to write your email address, I will send you a document with the identification keys.

Very interesting. I will be grateful for the document. Yandex. Mail shkolnik-09@mail.ru Thank you for the tip. There was also the possibility that it was Artemis. But he referred to gnome because of a note by a local researcher who claimed that there were no other species in Transbaikalia.

Today, there are 3 species of this genus in Russia.
A. artemis is distinguished by long tails on the hind wings of both males and females.
Your male has short tails - cross them out :-).
The range of A. dulcinea (previously referred to as A. artemis in the literature, until the last revision) extends westward from the Far East to the EAO. Butterflies with the same wing bands as your specimen also occur. It is not registered in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
That leaves A. gnoma. I.e., in my opinion, the definition is correct.
V. V. Zolotukhin has an article on these types. If you are interested, write to cajarc. mail.ru, I'll send it to you.

Are there really no live and larger photos? It would be easier to tell by it. As well as number 1, about which it is so generally unclear whether it is Athetis or broken Hoplodrina

At least Khabarovsk has an Internet connection smile.gif
1-looks like Hoplodrina blanda, a little worn out.
2-I think that this is such a Hypochalcia propinquella, and here Vladislav posted a similar photo:
http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtopic=416170&st=50
The fire rate is highly variable. Still want to know the size?
3 - I will only assume that this is Synanthedon culiciformis, I have a similar one with such a bandage on the abdomen.
